I’m confused by this one. Some think he’s leaving, others think it’s a jab at that other coach. If he’s leaving it’s odd to say it on his App Twitter.

As of this morning Justin wasn't going anywhere. I don't expect that to change.

I take that emoji to mean "hmmmm" or "I wonder..." not confused. Maybe that's why people get irritated so quickly when I use it?

I took it as a snarky/sarcastic shot at Drink. I hope I’m right. Watts is a huge piece for us. GO APPS!!
Same. Also, it's being reported that UABs tight end coach and recruiting coordinator is going to Mizzou. If Watts is going too, it seems it'll be in a different capacity.
Yes. The UAB coach in question is Casey Woods. Son of Sparky Woods.
Yep, Sparky's son, a former Tennessee Vol WR.

Since SC mentioned having the staff committed through the bowl game, I have to wonder how important this game will impact decisions on both sides when it comes to who stays and who goes.

If Drink doesn't take his DC, Roof, with him it certainly means he doesn't have a lot of confidence in him. Lots of App fans don't have much condidence in him either, me included. His coaching record has been spotty at best. If Roof doesn't get chosen to go to Columbia, Coach Clark needs to select the very best young DC he can find....one that bleeds Black and Gold just like he does. IMO, any coach Drink brought can be replaced by Coach Clark with an excellent football coach of his choosing!!

Roof not going doesn’t exactly mean Drink doesn’t want him. May have to do with Roof wanting to coach his son next year.

You forget people on here have never made mistakes, and knew exactly what to do when they went to work at their new jobs. I will admit that I had a very negative reaction when he was first announced. After the UNCC game I was ready to fire him. BUT, he and the players got together and the defense won us several games. He has proven that he is a good coach. The players like him. Some on here will never change their minds no matter what happens.

Coach Ted Roof is the best Defensive Coordinator that we have had at App since I started here in 1988. This guy had more knowledge and a way better resume than anyone that has occupied the position before. I know a lot of you didn't like the hire because he wasn't one of ours or whatever reasons you had, but if you can't see what an excellent coach he is than you just have to pull your collective heads from your a$$es. Yes, it took a few games to get rolling but by god did he get our defense rolling. We held a SEC team to the second fewest rushing yards allowed on the season, among many other significant achievements. I see on here that people are clamoring for many different App guys or former App coaches but not a single one of them can hold a candle to Roof's experience. Find me one other guy that has a national title ring as the defensive coordinator and 30 plus years in FBS coaching. These things don't happen by mistake or chance,it is because he is a damn good coach and is recognized as such by the head coaches in FBS football circles. Anyone who can't understand this is simply too proud to admit they were wrong about his hire. I for one hope SC keeps Ted Roof as our Defensive Coordinator because I believe he is absolutely the best that we can get for that position. Funny how all the fans on here like to complain about him, but the coaches that know football are ALWAYS willing to give him a job. What does that tell you? It tells me that they know way more and it confirms what I have seen on the field this year, the guy is a hell of a coach and we are very, very lucky to have someone of his caliber coaching our defense. I hope Shawn keeps him here.
