We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Is there a Friday night NOLA gathering?
The big party is Saturday. Is there anything or a gathering place on Friday night? There’s a bar in the Marriott but is there any other designated App Bar?

Walk to Bourbon street friend. Worth every minute, if your staying at the same Marriott we stayed at its 5 minute walk. Unfortunately I cannot go this year and I’m Bummed.

You would be hard pressed to go somewhere in the Quarter and not find a handful of Black and Gold faithful over those two days.mountaineerman wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 10:05 pmWalk to Bourbon street friend. I’m sure there will be a designated meetup spot Friday. As of now App’s official Bowl Central page has a placeholder for that night and says the location is TBD.
And yeah, if you just walk down Bourbon St, the party will find you. It doesn’t exactly stay indoors.

I’ll check for an announcement about our designated bar. Not a huge fan of Bourbon Street in general but ready to hang out with App Fans. Traveling solo.

Re: Is there a Friday night NOLA gathering?
Last year the Yosef Club designated a bar for Friday night. With all the staff changes I got no idea who to reach out to about this year but it was a good time. Seems like it was the Bourbon Street Drinkery last year but that night is still a little foggy so can't be certain.
Re: Is there a Friday night NOLA gathering?

Re: Is there a Friday night NOLA gathering?
Last year it was the Bourbon Street Drinkery. The management there was great! Set us up an upstairs room in advance with a balcony overlooking Bourbon Street. It was a nice night and a great time was had by all. My daughter and I probably stayed there a couple of hours before just walking up and down Bourbon a time or two. Lots of App fans including alumni and parents. Met Jordan Fehr's dad there among others.

Wow, that is... surprising. Ethan mentioned our football ops guy followed Drink to Missouri. Between that location and the late announcement, I'm wondering if we got caught scrambling and had to take whatever we could get.Snwbrdro wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 3:25 pmFriday night gathering is at Manning’s from 7-9 next to harrahs casino. Re: Is there a Friday night NOLA gathering?
One of these years, at one of these bowl games, we need to actually have a MMB, er Yosef's Cabin, message board get-together at a bar like the Drinkery. I wouldn't want to compete against any "official" functions like the alumni event, but a Friday evening before a Bowl game in a great town like NOLA would be a nice spot for as many of us as can to get together and have a drink.
Home games are so hard because so many of us have our routines, only come up for gameday, etc. Same for many away games. A bowl game where everyone is kind of looking for the fun and usually in town a day early would be perfect.
Maybe we all throw on a name sticker with our actual name and our board handle and say hello. I know lots like to sort of "hide" behind the anonymity of the board but I think a plurality of us can agree on most things, especially most things relating to our love for the Black & Gold. I know a good few of you on the outside but frankly I sometimes forget handles and the like and it'd be nice to put a name to a few more faces.
I know it might be a challenge to pull together, and find someone to take charge, especially at late notice, but I for one would really enjoy a little Cabin Meet-and-Greet one of these years, especially as we've grown as a fan board and a fanbase.

This is a Friday night gathering . I checked Out Manning’s and it looks pretty decent near harrahs casino. Never been there. Maybe wanted to keep it more family friendly than bourbon street.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 3:55 pmWow, that is... surprising. This is a Friday night gathering of app alum. There is also a gathering Saturday at walkons with a bunch of bgp333 members. Already 100 people planning to go there between 12-3 SaturdayHkyMtneer wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 5:38 pmOne of these years, at one of these bowl games, we need to actually have a MMB, er Yosef's Cabin, message board get-together at a bar like the Drinkery. Re: Is there a Friday night NOLA gathering?
I'm aware...I was simply saying it would be nice to have a gathering primarily composed of Yosef Cabin members one day, where we could get to put handles to faces, since so many of us read and/or post on the MMB daily. I'll be attending the Friday evening event at Mannings as well.Snwbrdro wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 7:44 pmThis is a Friday night gathering of app alum. Re: Is there a Friday night NOLA gathering?
Agree EastHall - what a miss! To each his own, but I’m not going to New Orleans to hang out in a generic sports bar that could be anywhere. Bourbon Street Drinkery was awesome last year!EastHallApp wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 3:55 pmWow, that is... surprising. Ethan mentioned our football ops guy followed Drink to Missouri. Don't forget you can get a Harrah's players club card gamble a little and get free parking too. The $25 spent at Manning's may serve you better.Snwbrdro wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 3:25 pmFriday night gathering is at Manning’s from 7-9 next to harrahs casino. First come first serve is what I was Told.

Re: Is there a Friday night NOLA gathering?
After the Saturday tailgate sold out the Alumni Office decided it was safe to move the event back to the Superdome from Benson Tower. The space in Benson would have been wonderful, but tight...especially if the weather is indeed bad, as a lot of the space in the suite at Benson Tower is outdoors. On the positive side, making this move opens up the event to more who wish to visit the Saturday tailgate but were shut out.
