QB after 2020
Anyone heard anything from practice, coaches etc on David Baldwin-Griffin. One of the highest rated recruits in the past few years for App. Hoping he can take the reigns after this fall?

Hopefully no spots are guaranteed. Would love to see David really push Zac for the starting job this offseason.

Will be a very fun race to follow between DBG and Navy Shuler, both were heralded recruits with P5 offers on their resumes.

Re: QB after 2020
Not sure I understand the sentiment.
Do we not want all of our depth players pushing our starters? Or are you stating David is not good enough to push Zac?

Re: QB after 2020
Yeah that is what a top 20 13-1 conference champion bowl winning team needs to do with its senior QB who might have all of his backs and receivers around him- replace him with a redshirt freshman. Yep that would make total sense.

Well, he is currently 4th on the depth chart.ah59396 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 9:17 pmNot sure I understand the sentiment.

Has there been any chatter of DBG going to Mizzou? Wasn’t this Bryant’s last year of eligibility?

Wow. Man, I’m not saying that at all. I’m saying I’d like to see the younger player develop and push the starter to be better. Literally said I want DBG to push him.

No to chatter of DBG going to Mizzou; Yes to this year being Bryant’s last year.

Re: QB after 2020
I believe that he was answering the first question “no”, and the second question “yes”. There were 2 questions asked.Woodstovegang wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 11:11 pmthat's like saying yes and no. what do you know or heard?EastHallApp wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 11:01 pmNo and yes.booneboy92 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 9:22 pmHas there been any chatter of DBG going to Mizzou? Re: QB after 2020
I hope not only DBG but Huesman both push Zac in terms of making him better. There is no shot they would overtake ZT unless he gets hurt or just takes about 2 steps back early in the season. The buzz from those who see DBG is that he has a good arm but you never known how good a player is until they see the field.

Nope the future has to have experience. DBG is 2 if not oneEastHallApp wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 11:52 pmI think the more legit question is whether DBG can overtake Huesman as QB2.

Re: QB after 2020
DBG is far from starting from what I understand. He has this off-season to improve, but I would not consider him any type of threat to push Zac next season.
