People call these people terrorists, I say they are nothing but cowards.

Please join me in praying for the victums and their families. Also, I pray for the investigators as they track down the cowards who committed this terrible act.

This is terrible. I hope they catch the cowards. Several co-workers were running today and we have heard from most of them. Crazy act of violence.

Terrorism, whether it be internal or external, is alive and continuing even though some prefer not to use the word anymore. Thoughts and prayers to all those injured and to the families of those killed by these cowards.

Re: Terror at Boston Marathon Finish Line; Several Dead
This is another act of violence that has been intentionally brought on the American people, this time in the wage of terrorism. And the people of this forum, particularly this subject, have hit the nail on the head. The one(s) who did this are cowards. I have been in emergency services for the past 26 years both as a fireman and a paramedic. I have seen many things ranging from medical to horrific accidents to intentional acts of violence on many people which I hope and pray I will not have to witness again during the rest of my career. The city of Boston is fortunate to have the manpower and equipment at their disposal in the way of law enforcement, fire department, and ems. God bless America and may his justice and will be done.

Kudos to yesterday's first responders. Those rushing TOWARD the explosions to help those who were injured brought back memories of PANYNJ/NYPD/FDNY rushing into the Twin Towers. You are all heroes and are the reason why our country WILL NOT EVER be afraid of the cowards who attack us.

I agree. I will never forget the first fire I ever responded to. It was a barn fire and was also starting to involve the house next to it. I remember pulling up to the scene just as the family was running away. We got the fire put out and saved all the animals that were in both the barn and the house. I was covered in soot and soaked to the bone. As I was taking off my turnout gear the owners came up to me and wanted to say thank you. I said I was just glad we were able to help. The father said he had never seen anything like that. His quote was "You guys are a little nuts. Here we are running and yelling away from the fire and here come you guys running and yelling towards the fire". Here's to being a little nuts.asu66 wrote:Kudos to yesterday's first responders. Moose didn't know your were a fellow firefighter, I had to deal with the tornadoes that came through NC exactly 2 years ago today. If anyone remembers the picture of the Lowes building collapsed that was my town. When something major like that happens its complete chaos.firemoose wrote:I agree. Re: Terror at Boston Marathon Finish Line; Several Dead
Yep 3rd...I've got 20 years as a firefighter (would have several more but working for the railroad didn't leave much training time)...15 as an EMT...and 10 as a paramedic. Spread out over NC, FL, and VA. I came down with a team 2 years ago and helped with S & R and cleanup after the tornadoes. I've been to a lot of disaster sites over the years since I've got some specialized training. I've been doing it for a long time and it's been one of the great privileges of my life to try and help those during their time of greatest need. Glad to meet a fellow smoke eater.3rd wrote:Moose didn't know your were a fellow firefighter, I had to deal with the tornadoes that came through NC exactly 2 years ago today. I'll just say I disagree vehemently with 90% of that.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:Here is something from across the pond. I generally like what he has to say.

Well, that might mean you agree with 10%, which is a starting point to civil discussion.appst89 wrote:I'll just say I disagree vehemently with 90% of that.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:Here is something from across the pond. I generally like what he has to say.
