Re: 2020 and beyond Uniforms
Our players make our numbers look small.
I just hope we keep the stadium numbers. The biggest problem, one I like, is our uniforms look the best they can look. A lot of why our uniforms look so good is that our colors are just awesome. Whoever chose our school colors, hexcode: #222222 and #FFCC00 was a genius. I for one hope they never change. Think about all of the colleges that their football teams wear alternate uniforms that are black. Black is our signature color, not some type of funeral only color. Process black forever. Everyone knows that our color combination stands out the most that is why warning signs are black with yellow writing or yellow with black writing. Those caution signs along the highway are our school colors for a reason...

Our school colors are black and school bus yellow. Why we changed from gold IDK.
I would like to see black helmets with gold flake. The car primer black could be phased out.

I like black/black for home and black/white away games. To me every home game is Black Saturday and our fans should be in black. I do agree that the gold (yellow) stands out well on tv and could be the go to color for fans at away games, but when at the Rock I prefer black. As far as shoulder striping or number outlines, I will leave that to the professionals as long as the basic look is maintained. I love the block A but also like old school yosef and never mind seeing him make an appearance on the helmet.

(not uniforms but this was closest relevant thread)
OK App interwebs...whats the story here?
If I ever owned a truck this nice, the Block A would be my cherry on top too!

If you go to https://teamcolorcodes.com/appalachian- ... lor-codes/ it does list our gold as yellow.

...and Nike refers to our variant of yellow as "University Gold". I love our shade of yellow and think it looks great with black. I'm not a fan of old gold - feels too copycat with Wake for my taste.AppWyo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 6:00 pmIf you go to https://teamcolorcodes.com/appalachian- ... lor-codes/ it does list our gold as yellow.

Re: 2020 and beyond Uniforms
My thoughts exactly! I teach at a high school that uses the black and old gold combo...absolutely despise using that gold for anything. It looks ugly and lame. I stick with white/black/grey for my teams that I coach.HkyMtneer wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 6:37 pm...and Nike refers to our variant of yellow as "University Gold". Love the yellow gold. What is baffling is how much "orange-yellow' is for sale through official channels. Like this comparison from the bookstore.

Re: 2020 and beyond Uniforms
Are you calling the top hoodie the "orange-yellow"? If so, that's closer than the bottom photo to our actual athletics color as designated by Nike. The great thing about our current arrangement with Nike is that our Block A actually uses the University Gold rather than that lighter yellow that our Block A often had surrounding it. When we first started getting a good selection of Nike gear the thing I hated most was the yellow surrounding the Block A was so much lighter than the University Gold that would appear anywhere on the shirt/jacket/etc. They contrasted greatly and whacked my OCD out. Now, with embroidery almost being a thing of the past, at least on official Nike products, it's no longer an issue and the yellow surrounding the A matches the University Gold used on the rest of the item. It's the little things...

Re: 2020 and beyond Uniforms
I think our current uniforms/combos look pretty good. Still prefer all black at home, but I must admit the all white with white helmet has grown on me as an away uniform. Just stay away from all gold/yeller and I'm happy. If the players are happy with the uniforms then so am I.

Re: 2020 and beyond Uniforms
All black and all white are the only good all-whatever colors for uniforms. Any time I see a team wear all red or all blue or whatever it looks like they are wearing coveralls or pajamas or something. Look at basically every classic football uniform, college or pro, and there's a nice contrast between pants and shirt.SpeedkingATL wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 10:36 amI think our current uniforms/combos look pretty good. Re: 2020 and beyond Uniforms
yes, my point also is the items available everywhere are wildly inconsistent. with that said I prefer the more yellow gold and not the orange gold...kinda like Yosef does...HkyMtneer wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 8:17 amAre you calling the top hoodie the "orange-yellow"? Re: 2020 and beyond Uniforms
First time on and hello!
What a great year we had and everything is looking so good for next year. We are going to light up the scoreboard. Tight-ends will get some love as a friend says and 4/3 defense will be strong again.
It is like; home coming, a family reunion, football alumni coming back to the Mountain and I love it with our coaches returning.
So, help a brother out. This had nothing to do with uniforms so how do you change a subject matter or go to different posts? Is that over on the left?
Oh, one thing on the uniforms, I feel the Mich. look should be reserved for a very special occasion.
It is a Great Day to be a Mountaineer!

Re: 2020 and beyond Uniforms
My wife sold cheer uniforms for a few years. The cloth being used is dyed in large batches and once a batch is gone it’s hard to find the exact same color again. She did Apps uniforms one year and had a hard time finding fabrics that matched the football and basketball uniforms. This is why you will see variations in color between different manufacturers, they are buying fabric from different sources. Screen printed stuff is different you can always mix a color to get what you want.

Re: 2020 and beyond Uniforms
Anyone who sits in the top of the East Stands, would not go with all black in September. I am sure that’s why our team doesn’t role out the black jerseys until the cooler months. I prefer gold (yellow) in the stands during the warm games, then black as the weather cools.t4pizza wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 12:11 pmI like black/black for home and black/white away games. With modernized fit and trim it would certainly be a good look. Always liked the helmet stickers as well.

Re: 2020 and beyond Uniforms
Old gold clothing generally looks old and faded too. It's a color that does not translate well to fabric that is used for t-shirts, polos, hoodies, etc.HkyMtneer wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 6:37 pm...and Nike refers to our variant of yellow as "University Gold".
