Re: App State + Kyle Busch car
Every bit of this is Awesome! Even wore an App State face mask. Can not ask for better advertising than that! The only question now is how do we get that car back on the Mountain?!?!

Re: App State + Kyle Busch car
Post race write up on the mothership:
https://www.espn.com/racing/nascar/stor ... -charlotte
In it there is this little gem:
"Hopefully this will lift your spirits, we won one for you," Busch said to the App State students who didn't get to have a traditional graduation ceremony due to the coronavirus.
I had never really cared for the guy before, but he definitely went out of his way and he gained at least one more fan!

Have him do it live. Drive the car out to the middle of field, climb out, jump up on the hood, and “welcome to the rock”.MAD Doctor wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 10:22 pmI hereby nominate Kyle Busch to say, “Welcome to the Rock!” for Game 1.

Just a thought, no doubt this was a proud moment for Jackson and Miller Gibbs. And I would think those two young men had a hand in making this happen. Think about sending and email to their position coaches and asking them to let Jackson and Miller know how much their App. family appreciated the gesture.

I took it more of the Michigan reference and the 'big house' race teams that he beat. Calling UNC &/or USC 'big houses' is a massive overstatement haha USC isn't as much of a stretch but UNC hasn't been anywhere close. They may be on the come up but if they are, I hope we bring them back down when they venture up the mountain!

Send it to Dave Clawson.....hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 10:11 pmSend this out to those naysayers that Charlotte isn't App territory.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

IF they venture up the mountain. It may be convenient for them to back out of that game. What would it mean to UNC to have a 2 game losing streak to an in state G5? We’re on an upward trajectory! We’ll be a bonafide G5 dynasty by the time we see them again.MountaineerMafia wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 9:07 amI took it more of the Michigan reference and the 'big house' race teams that he beat. It’s one thing to back out after winning a close game. It’s another to back out after losing. They HAVE to come up here for a shot at redeeming themselves. Otherwise, they’re not seen as ducking competition, but as losers ducking competition.Apple@chin1 wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 10:30 amIF they venture up the mountain. You did notice the M&M candy uniform Busch was wearing. I think Mars Global may have had some influence in addition to Gibbs.

This is getting way ahead of things but it would be really great to beat them in Boone and talk them into playing the final game of the series in Charlotte. Same for USC.AppinVA wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 12:37 pmIt’s one thing to back out after winning a close game. It’s another to back out after losing. It would be nice, but if they honor their end of the contract, we should honor ours. And go 6-0 while doing so.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 1:07 pmThis is getting way ahead of things but it would be really great to beat them in Boone and talk them into playing the final game of the series in Charlotte. Re: App State + Kyle Busch car
Not saying we shouldn’t honor the contract, it would still be their home game and their choice. Again, way ahead of things, just thought it would be an appealing game for the Charlotte Sports Authority.AppinVA wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 1:30 pmIt would be nice, but if they honor their end of the contract, we should honor ours.
