Re: App/CLT part 3
It will be on ESPN+ at least.
ESPN has to spread our their best games across both their linear properties and the streaming services so one will feel obligated to subscribe to both services.

Re: App/CLT part 3
There will be an announcement in the next few days about this game being on a good network.
My guess is ESPN2

I thought it funny and takes a light-hearted dig at Charlotte. Nothing wrong with that.

Re: App/CLT part 3
Got bored this afternoon so I ventured over to NinerNation for some entertainment.
Some of the funniest quips were "...well we'll still out fundraise you." and calling us poor. Must be sad they can't even talk about the product on the field.

Re: App/CLT part 3
It’s fascinating that they’ve been calling us poor all summer. I guess it’s because we cut three of our 20 sports and joined the rest of the G5 (including them) at 16-18 teams. In reality this only demonstrates the fact that we have more pragmatic leadership.
Here in the real world, this is how the two athletic departments compare financially: https://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/finances/
UNCC only survives by extorting its students
2018
Ticket Sales, App: $3,148,113 UNCC: $1,954,698
Contributions, App: $4,602,783 UNCC: $3,849,951
Student Fees: App: $12,518,144 UNCC: $21,667,200
Rights/Licensing, App: $4,068,814 UNCC: $3,503,273
School Funds, App: $10,093,111 UNCC: $5,117,367
Other: App, $2,509,902 UNCC, $1,827,130
Percentage of total revenue from student fees, App: 34% UNCC: 57%
App funding exceeds UNCC’s in EVERY. SINGLE. non-student fee category.
Quite frankly I find it absolutely criminal that they fund more than half of their athletic department from student fees considering they’re probably at the very bottom of the country in student interest and attendance of their athletic programs. At a time when the student debt crisis is in the trillions.

Re: App/CLT part 3
Would it not make sense to combine student fee AND school funds as both are ways to divert money paid by students to athletics? Combined we are still better off than UNCC.Gonzo wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 5:29 pmIt’s fascinating that they’ve been calling us poor all summer. Please post the link where you got this from. Classic.
Even if our old logo was used in the past at least it was an App State logo.

Re: App/CLT part 3
I think it’s more campus services return the revenue generated from game day to the athletic department. Like for app, campus food service now runs concessions at all of the athletic venues and I believe contributes to athletics because of that.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 5:45 pmWould it not make sense to combine student fee AND school funds as both are ways to divert money paid by students to athletics? App: $649
UNCC: $731
this is as reported by the school, and they have to "balance" their budgets so G5 athletic dept. tend to dick around the #s a little bit, but just another dagger in the UNCC narrative.
its also <$100 a year so not an enormous difference, the real take is that we should all step up so that App has to rely less on students.
Also it makes me think that UNCC ROI on major sports has to be one of the worst in the country. The fact that our basketball program has flown by them is probably pretty sobering for the SEC 2020 crowd there.

Re: App/CLT part 3
Apparently Coop will "ease some restrictions" tomorrow that would take effect at the end of this week. Still be shocked if we get fans on the 12th, but this is at least in the right direction hopefully.

I talke with someone in the ticket office today and they said they are still waiting to see how many fans are allowed and then it goes by priority points. I’m still waiting to see if I have a ticket for uncc.
