That had to hurt to say.

The best part is this thread will get like 5 comments. Remember when this board was actually about sports?

Ark St looks pretty decent tonight, but as we talked about at the end of last season, the AAC is light on defense. The Belt has definitely played well today, with Tx St looking a lot better than last year and Arky having a good first qtr.

Ark St. needs to pull its own weight outside the league. Going 1-1 today would help the Belt tremendously.

Re: Let’s go red wolves
Hopefully now that football is being played again we can put some of the other threads to bed, or at least quarantine (pun intended) all that crap to the anything thread. It does get old, even if I’ve contributed in the past.Seattleapp wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 7:55 pmI appreciate you commenting on a football related threadBeauFoster wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 7:52 pmArk St looks pretty decent tonight, but as we talked about at the end of last season, the AAC is light on defense. This season is going to be interesting, with odd practice routines and such. And I’ve noticed a bunch of early season injuries in the games today-no doubt related to limited contact/practices this fall. There will be injuries that derail seasons this year, hopefully not for App, and no one on any team suffers something career threatening/ending.
Give 'em hell!

Makes me a little nauseous, but hopefully the fake ASU can pull off the victory
Re: Let’s go red wolves
Is there any way possible we can watch a game without political commentary. Been watching arky st for 15 min and have yet to hear anything about the actual game

Arkansas State are who we thought they were.
That big receiver (6’4”) of theirs dropped a wide open ball that would have put them 1st and goal on the 7. And then followed that up by getting beat for a jump ball by what looked like a 5’10” CB.

Re: Let’s go red wolves
I have to give them credit for a close first half. They played Memphis a little longer than I would have expected. Remember that Memphis is the top team in the AAC and Ark St is mid tier of the SBC. Memphis pulling away like you expect though. Texas State, who has been bottom tier in SBC, played a top 5 AAC team very close. We need to see more for sure but I am going to guess the SBC is a lot closer to the AAC than the media would suggest.
That play by that WR was pathetic though. Almost like no heart left at all.

Re: Let’s go red wolves
Texas State and Southern Alabama are the two Sun Belt schools that, if they can get it figured out, could be real problems for us long term.
San Marcos and Mobile would be pretty desirable places to go to school, the campuses are cool, and they are in recruiting hot beds.
Again, ifs and buts, however they worry me more than Troy or Arkansas State (long term).

Good points. Decent starts for both this year, though Southern Miss may be garbage, so I don’t know what USA’s win against them means.ah59396 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 10:26 pmTexas State and Southern Alabama are the two Sun Belt schools that, if they can get it figured out, could be real problems for us long term.

But I was surprised how well TXST stood up to a solid AAC program, given their SBC performance in recent years.
