No matter what you do this year, you have next year also.

This year does not count, from what I understand, so no it would not count unless they come out and determine that redshirt situations like you just mentioned aren't included in the eligibility rule this year.

The most interesting/surprising thing I see there is Anderson Castle being listed as second string OLB. Young man must be showing out because we have so much young talent at that position.

I believe Ethan Joyce was going to get some clarity but his initial thought was if you opt out this season, you’re opting out of all football related activities.

I have wondered about that second question too. If you RS this year does that make you still a "true" freshman next year? Of course I doubt many guys want to sit out two years in a row anyway.

But yes, pretty sure that's all moot re: Horn. Sounded pretty clear that he was going to play even before Sutton opted out.

I’m just hoping we have some different wrinkles on D against Charlotte this year

Rain in the forecast ought to help us against Charlotte as they are likely to want to throw the ball around the yard and test the safeties. If they are forced to run the ball more, that feeds right into our hands. We know we can run the ball all day in the rain! I think the defense will come out and start games faster than last year as well.

Looking forward to Saturday! Am firing up a tailgate in my front yard since I can’t roll up to Boone. Win or lose I’m just glad we are playing.

Read about eligibility talk in the thread. Assuming it is like the spring athletes the schools are given the option to allow athletes to return for another year, but the school then has to find the money to pay for those scholarships. We had to raise over $100k for baseball players to come back. I’m also curious if NCAA adjusts roster size next season.
