Maybe someone else could help me understand why they just could not relocate the game to eliminate the travel outside of the lower 48 states? Is it not still early enough? I know this will hurt some G5 teams chances of making a bowl.

Re: Bowl Games already being cancelled
Contracts may prevent games from changing location and many of these people just don't want to deal with the risks associated with COVID-19.
Games who rely on ticket sales are definitely vulnerable and I could see at least 10-15 games cancel like this.
We also have too many games anyway so if we see a few drop permanently because of this I would not be upset. There are too many 6-6 vs 6-6 type games every year.

I don’t expect any bowl games outside of the large TV contract games to be played. Bowls that rely upon ticket sales are viable this year.

My guess on why they're not relocated is because of the number of hands in the pot. Particularly, the local bowl organizations. They're the only ones who would have something to lose if it's moved. The conferences and tv networks wouldn't care but the local organizations hoping to make money, bring tourists, showcase the city a little bit, etc lose the benefits if the bowl is moved somewhere else.
