Injury update 10/26/20

Unread post by biggie » Mon Oct 26, 2020 4:23 pm

Clark said in conf today:

Henni should be good.
Virgil doesn’t know for this week.
Crosby out for a while if not for the season with lower body injury.
Pearson should be back at full speed this week.

good news about Henni. Someone in the game thread asked about lack of targets. I read we only used him as decoy this week.

He mentioned Henni was only there to run very short routes.

Anything at all regarding Marcus Williams? - he had that one 56 yd run and I don't think he was on the field again --- any news on this?

Nothing in the conf. He said they were good except those he mentioned.

Still think it was punishment for the fumble at the end of that run.

Ok.. thanks. I just find that a little strange with him missing several games and others have fumbled.

I think the fact that he fumbled away two touchdowns has something to do with it.

We will need him. He’s probably our best back.... no disrespect to Daetrich.

It doesn’t matter how much you run if you keep losing the football. How many yards is a possession worth?

Based on how often our RBs have dropped the ball (turnover or not), he likely will get more chances going forward if we sit those who fumble.

He will. And he needs to hold on to the ball.

I’ll take, Fumbles are not the reason, for $500 Alex.

Yea I believe it’s still his hammy giving him problems. In some ways it’s unfortunate that his first run back was a 55 yarder.

I know that 94 has some connections that I don't have, but I have to say that I doubt Williams was held out the remainder of the game simply because of the fumble. I can see the coach pulling him for a series to do some "coaching" and let him get his head straight, but Williams has an excellent track record and a single fumble (no matter how "ugly") doesn't diminish that. I don't know what the issue was, but I hope he's ready and available because we need him.

ALL of our RBs need to keep a handle on the ball. I imagine that's a focal point in practice right now.

I'm looking forward to more App football!

Agree 94 - when you have a proven player who has missed several games and his first run after coming back breaks for almost 60 yards and a defender punches the ball out from behind, I just don't buy it was because of the fumble - As a former coach this makes no sense to me - Since I have no idea what the real reason is I won't discount that take - just seemed strange and my guess there is something else going on ---

Ball security is a priority, but we have guys that are still missing the holes that are being opened by the OL. Not pointing fingers, but this is a bigger issue than it looks to be on TV. Only patience and time will get this corrected.
