Re: Sean Connery RIP
Yes he was THE James Bond. Think back to the 1960's and the things that were most likely inspired by Sir Sean and the Bond series: Johnny Rivers' "Secret Agent Man," The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Get Smart, Jethro Bodine wanting to become a "double nought spy." There's probably more but I can't remember now.

Re: Sean Connery RIP
Passing on in your sleep at 90 in the Bahamas with family around was the perfect ending to a legend of a man!

Gold Finger was my favorite. I think it was the first.

He was such a part of my childhood. I will say this searching through the list of movies he was in ...I came Across The untouchables . I had never watched it still can’t believe it. So I watched it yesterday what a great movie.

Re: Sean Connery RIP
Sean's movie, featuring P Galore, wasn't bad.
Anybody see the movie I’m referencing?

Re: Sean Connery RIP
Sean Connery was one of those rare talents who seemed to make any movie better just by being in it. I always found it amusing that he never even tried to do accents and nobody ever cared. Whether playing a Russian submarine captain, a Spanish immortal or James Bond....same distinctive voice. He will be missed!

Yeah, I saw it at the old Appalachian Theater in downtown Boone
Yeah, I saw it at the old Appalachian Theatre in downtown Boone when I was a soph. These two posts reminded me of something I saw online several months ago. Honor Blackman, the actress who played the role of Ms. Galore passed away earlier this year. Yet another sign of the passing of another generation.
Honor Blackman, 'Goldfinger' Bond girl, dies at age 94
Honor Blackman (22 August 1925 - 5 April 2020) was an English actress, widely known for the roles of Cathy Gale in The Avengers (1962-1964), Bond girl Pussy Galore in Goldfinger (1964), Julia Daggett in Shalako (1968) and Hera in Jason and the Argonauts (1963). She is also known for her role as Laura West in the ITV sitcom The Upper Hand (1990-1996). Honor Blackman - IMDb

Re: Sean Connery RIP
He also had a very short appearance in "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" that starred Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman. He showed up "at the last minute" as King Richard.
"The Name of the Rose" was one he did that was uh....a bit unusual. He played Friar William of Baskerville trying to solve a murder mystery at a medieval abbey.
