"Dick Trickle"

They had to be naive or high to name their kid Richard Trickle knowing "Dick" was the normal nickname for Richard.

Of course, his name is the only reason that anyone knows of him on the NASCAR circuit.

So WRONG, any racing fan knows of him. Only the most prolific short-track racer in history. Only came to nascar in his late 40's

Can tell you know very little about NASCAR.

Very sad. Dick was a gracious man and represented everything that made NASCAR what it is today.

Look FF, all I was saying was that he was more well known in the sports world for his name then anything else.

It was a longtime running joke on ESPN to show the top five spots and also show where Dick Trickle finished. Sports fans of all sport recognize his name, and he never won a nascar race.
