Nice Win! Shot the lights out. Some tough TOS but they fought through it. Best record in the Sunbelt for at least a day lol.

Forrest with 23!!!! I'd been tough on JF lately but a HUGE performance!
Delph with 17
Almonacy with 13 (clutch FT shooting there at the end)
Gregory with 12
You'll win a lot of games when you get 4 guys scoring in double digits.
App hit 10 3's and 18 free throws.
I'm loving this team.

Best win of the year. GA St beat us soundly in the paint but hot shooting and creating more turnovers won the day.
Law of averages say we lose tomorrow, but let’s see what our defense can do, go get them boys.

I was gonna ask how bad we get blown out tomorrow. I'm thinking we get number two though. Playing good ball right now.

In the East anyway. I believe Texas State is #1 overall at 4-1.agentpaul001 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 8:02 pmNice Win! Shot the lights out. Some tough TOS but they fought through it. Best record in the Sunbelt for at least a day lol.

Re: MBB vs Georgia State (1/22 6pm & 1/23 4pm)
I was concerned after we shot so we'll from 3 in the first half that would come back to haunt us in the 2nd half. However, we were clutch down the stretch and fortunately GA State went cold. As Saint said, law of averages is likely working against us but with the effort these guys bring don't count them out. We need to take advantage of these home games as the schedule turns against us later.

Winning today and getting the series sweep would be HUGE. This team is fun to watch...wish we could be in the Holmes.

You're right, I was thinking Texas State 3-1 after last night. Looking at the Sunbelt Tournament format the first seeds in each division look to get equal weighting so great to be in that spot for at least a few more hours.hapapp wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 5:42 amIn the East anyway. The team has done a great job after KL's departure, but there are definite minutes for a bench forward to pickup. I'll be interested to see if fatigue plays a role tonight, our starters got A LOT of minutes in.

Re: MBB vs Georgia State (1/22 6pm & 1/23 4pm)
Yep. Kerns is proving that a stout defense can do wonders, even if we might not always shoot like we did yesterday. We just held the best offense in the belt (87 points per game) and probably the best trio of guards, to 71. Fortunately, we’ve been scoring above our previous average lately as well.
Forrest has more than made up for the scoring loss that K. Lewis provided. Now we need someone to grab more boards. One of the first things Kerns said when he took the job was that his philosophy starts with elite defense. It’s been really neat to see that come to fruition this year.

If he can keep this offensive streak going we will be an even tougher out.

19-3 run good guys. Turnovers been in or favor we have forced 8 and only committed 2! I love this team!

Deshon Parker missed an open jumper, he's been struggling offensively. I can't name the last time he made a jump shot
luckily he makes up for his slump with his ball handling and strong defensive play
