Cool links attached to the article on their LT Zion Nelson. He is projected as a first rounder. He was committed to us until Miami flipped him late.

Going to be a tough battle for us. Not sure where the upset information comes from, but they embarrassed us the last time that happened. We have to be prepared for a fired up Miami team and be able to weather what they come at us with. We believed the hype last time and when they came out and punched us in the mouth we had no answer. Need to be more blue collar and tougher in this game. Nothing about this is going to be easy.

The upset information comes from where we are in their schedule. They have a whole month to get amped up for Alabama. Once the game is over, they could be prone to a letdown mentally coming in to the game with App. Not to mention, they have Sparty coming to town the following week. They are talented for sure. It all comes down to how well they handle the “trucking” by Bama.

Yeah , that was a nightmare from the first snap. Marcus Cox injury icing on the cake.

Hopefully our defense will make an adjustment on the first drive if they run the same play every time down the field...I remember our crowd was awesome before and early parts of game...when the long TD run was called back due to penalty, that to the air out of the balloon so to speak

That TD run was the play that Marcus Cox got hurt on too (I think) and would've been the answer to their 1 play scoring drive that we needed. I wish we had some way of knowing how different that game could've gone had we scored and MC not gotten hurt.

Would'a Could'a Should'a I guess.

I like the way we match up this year with our depth and experience. Our secondary won't be as green this year either. Kaaya torched us that day.

Based on last time our corners and safety’s better be vastly improved.

My biggest fear in this game isn't the talent disparity, although I still believe it is significant, but rather the heat/humidity that our players will face. Early afternoon Miami heat in early September can be unbearable and this is coming from someone who only lives a few hours up the coast. Summer camp in Boone just can't prepare for what we will face weather wise.

They ate our defense up on multiple drives where we “refused” to adjust. We sat back off line and they repeatedly called same play over and over and over. It was painful to watch. We kept saying, why don’t you come up to the line? They were killing us walking right down the field.

I don’t blame them. If we would not defend that bubble screen just keep calling until we do, and they did.

I would say that was easily the worst prepared we ever were for a game in Satterfield’s HC career here.

We are in the same boat with very emotional game week before with ecu. Hope we don’t have a let down or look ahead with either.

I don’t think that we had the personnel, at that juncture of our transition, to stop their game plan. Walking them up to the line would just let them throw it over the top. We just had no answer for their physicality and I think the coaches knew it.

After that Miami butt whuppin I talked to several Miami fans. All said they would absolutely come back to a game at the rock. Hope we give them a reason to want a payback game!

We matched up with Tennessee with same personnel. I am not saying they didn’t have the advantage but everyone saw we were lacking in game planning. When you give a ten yard cushion on the line they got 8-12 yards guaranteed every down. We finally tightened up later and it stopped those same routes. Why did we not adjust sooner?

We were playing different personnel than we played during the Tennessee game. Dobbins wasn’t Kaya.(sp?). If I’m not mistaken, Woodie was the DC at the time. Correct? My issue with Woodie was that he was great at making halftiime adjustments but not so much in game. You would have to ask the coaches why they waited so long. Did we stop the routes later in the game or did they just stop throwing them and run more? IDR.
