Who?
Seriously, this guy has made one public appearance in the last 24 months. My 8 year old daughter could fill his shoes without missing a beat.

I just wish he would learn how to push our conference agenda the way Aresco pushes the AAC. The Sun Belt gained a lot of credibility last year when other teams finally stepped it up, Gill has to make sure the college football world realizes this.

App and to a lessor extent, Southern, has elevated the conference. Dude better be joining the Yosef club. You're welcome Keith.

Look, we got that new logo and we appear to be a diversified group that promotes equal opportunities. At least one of those might be priceless and a P5 could come calling. Fingers crossed he uses the Belt as a stepping stone.

Exactly! Wonder if the Belt should hire a Media/lobby firm to push some buttons?

Re: Keith Gill Contract Extension
Think all the head football coaches will each take a $50,000 pay cut to pay for that? Given their salaries that is pushing small change for most of them and yet I doubt that would happen. Same for the ADs. Otherwise I can't imagine where the money would come from.

Re: Keith Gill Contract Extension
Good thing his extension didn’t require the Sun Belt Conference having a decent or viable App providing conference news, links, and stories. The one that did exist was seriously lacking in function and design as well as content. Honestly, it was pathetic. Now, it can’t even be opened on an iPhone or found in the App Store because it requires serious updates. They also never even bothered to update their own logo. Crazy! Kids design these things all the time in school. In this day and age I can’t believe the SBC can’t provide a decent App for it’s members and fans. C’mon Gill up your game!

Several media outlets consider the SBC to be the 8th best football conference in the country. You can’t spell Kill Eight without Keith Gill.

Re: Keith Gill Contract Extension
If this guy had been doing his job over the last 3-4 years, public perception of the conference would rightly be that the Belt is nipping at the AACs heels in terms of competitiveness on the football field. Instead, he’s been in hiding, and we’re still years behind.

In all seriousness, what has he done to deserve a five year extension?

Re: Keith Gill Contract Extension
There have not been any scandals and the conference seems to be running without any hiccups. He may not deserve a raise nor to make the salary he makes but I have not heard or noticed anything that would make me think he deserves to be let go from employment either.
I do wish he was a louder advocate for the league and if I found out he was staying quite so as to not rock the boat for his own self-interest I would be VERY disappointed. But he does have 12 bosses that are likely giving him a path to take and I am sure he is staying inside that path well enough.

Re: Keith Gill Contract Extension
I'd like to see him negotiate with ESPN so that no Sun Belt Team has to play more that (1) game out of the (12) games on a weekday night. All of the teams remaining (11) Football Games and Conference Championship Game would be played on Saturdays. It guarantees all teams will have at least (5) Saturday GameDays!
Also would like see the Sun Belt Conference negotiate with ESPN to see more sports especially in-conference Basketball and Baseball/Softball games on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3 not just ESPN+.

Re: Keith Gill Contract Extension
I bet that could happen and ESPN will come back and offer a lot less money to the SB schools. Maybe there could be a provision where schools that do not want weekday games receive less money than the schools that are playing Tue-Fri.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 15, 2021 2:21 pmI'd like to see him negotiate with ESPN so that no Sun Belt Team has to play more that (1) game out of the (12) games on a weekday night. ESPN needs live events for their schedule and they need to fill the weeknights, and there are only so many slots on Saturday for games. Between ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU we could have 12 games on a Saturday. Prig5 are getting most of those sadly, so maybe a G5 game of the week, and maybe SB gets one game every other week. Otherwise we are on ESPN+.
I would be OK with that but it would mean lot less TV. I stopped my ESPN a few years ago as I was tired of giving them $5 a month which basically was going to the Prig5 schools. I do take ESPN+ or plan to renew for the upcoming season.
