Cryptos

Unread post by GreatAppSt » Tue Jul 27, 2021 10:58 am

How many of you have taken the plunge into crypto currencies?

Paper money replaced gold silver and copper coins to much resistance at the time, with claims that paper money will never work and people will never accept/use it. Now the same doubt is being cast on electronic Money, It's not going away and will only get bigger.

This guys courses are an eye opening Mr. Gensler worked at SEC for Obama and is now the head of SEC so I think he knows what he is talking about.

Tell me what you think? :D

I have a pretty large position in $OMI as well as some various NFTs on their platform and others. Own a small amount of $BTC, $EHT, and $SIA as well.

Have small amounts of 6 to 8 investments in different cryptos. Nothing to lose sleep over if lost it all

I have some money in various smaller cryptos, but I'll pull it all out in the next frenzy to try to break even (I'll likely be down 30% in it anyways, but I've already accounted for losing it all). Definitely not my primary investment and likely never will be. I just don't pay close enough attention to it, so the high reward doesn't outweigh the high risk for me.

Mark Cuban lost a small fortune in crypto and he’s probably a bit more savvy than us…..

I am really troubled by the amount of energy it takes to mine the cryptocurrencies. That can be a lot of fossil fuels being burned to produce the electricity to run the computers to mine the crypto.

I own small amount of about 18 different cryptos. I got into it around 2017 when bitcoin was worth just over $8k a coin, it's currently sitting just shy of $40k a coin which is down from the almost $65k it hit back in March. I don't own enough to get rich, just enough to not lose any sleep if I lost it all tomorrow. Although I am up quite a bit on my investment. Just for the record I have invested less than $900 of my own money and my portfolio is worth over $3k. That sounds decent now but it hurts after seeing it over $6k earlier this year lol. Most of the cryptos I have I only have about $3 invested in which I didn't pay for. I earned them through the digital wallet app I use. They occasionally have ways to earn obscure or new cryptos by watching videos and answering questions.

Do any of you stake your coins? Which wallets do you use? I started about 2 years ago with Trust wallet, and was using the Binance exchange for coin purchases. I have moved over to mostly using the cryto .com wallet and Uphold wallet, and use Coinbase more than Binance now but use whichever is charging less (GAS fees) at the time.

If anyone is interested getting into cryptos I am more than happy to refer you on Coinbase (the wallet app I use). You'll receive a referral code in your email and then if you use that link to sign up then we'll both earn $10 worth of Bitcoin after you purchase of $100 worth of a crypto.

I'm 85% Ethereum and 15% Cardano using Coinbase.

I follow these real closely and am confident there is a big place for Ethereum in the developed economies and will soon overtake Bitcoin's market cap. There are some nice catalysts, like triple having with EIP 1559, that'll make it deflationary and possibly run it to new highs..... All this is easily found by searching Ethereum.

Cardano is more efficient than ETH, but is targeting the underdeveloped countries in the world and doesn't yet have any smart contracts but supposedly will this early fall.

I'm dollar cost averaging in when I'm able and have decent stacks of both. These are longer term investments.

I'm preaching this to all who will listen. BTW if you like stocks better there is a coin index called Bitwise10 (BITW ) I put in a few months ago have yet to be disappointed.

This or another coin index is probably a way ago if you dabble in crypto or are just taking a gamble on crypto. Gives you diversified portfolio as compared to what I did with individual crypto choices.

Revisiting this... Gensler turned out to be a snake with his SEC lawsuits of XRP and Coinbase. I guess I should be thankful to him as I was able to secure large amounts of XRP in the 30 to 60 cent range from the time of the OP until last summer and Bitcoin that was as in the 16 to 20 grand range just a few years ago.

If you will only invest in stocks get some Coinbase "COIN" Or MicroStrategy "MSTR". The next few years are going to change the next 50 years in finance banking.

only about 5 percent of the US population own crypto now that will change soon.

Black Saturday how's your Stax doing? Well I hope. check your PM

Got ahold of that Trump coin at $1.00 and $2B market cap last night. It’s currently at $30.00 and $27B market cap. Breaking thru the crypto barrier!

Going to be a good weekend, just need a Mountaineer win.

ETH based, heavy on the gas fees IMHO and when you sell heavy on gas fees again. probably a good short term IDK because of popularity spike this weekend, but not for me. I'm Long term only. Let me know. Did you get it on trust wallet or Polygon network?
