Re: Louisville v Ole Miss
How he handled the SC job situation really hurt him with the Cards fan base which is unreasonable unless they are cheating or something shady.. More than likely gone if 6 wins or less.
I hope he lands somewhere else in a good position. I do not blame him for going after multi million dollar contract. Life changing

We all love Satt and understand why he left. I’m also pretty sure everyone is watching this game just to root for him. But his teams looks not good and that’s a fact.

Jeez, check out the Louisville forums. I’ll be slightly. surprised if satt isn’t fired tonight (exaggeration but I doubt he lasts the season).

Re: Louisville v Ole Miss
I’m more impressed by Ole Miss Defense 3-2-6. It is just hitting on all cylinders. QB1 Corral is showing why he is in it to win it. As for Louisville Forum… they need to just calm down and realize they are going to win 6 games this year.

Re: Louisville v Ole Miss
Satterfield was going to leave for money eventually no matter what, but I said from day 1 that leaving for the Louisville job was a mistake. That program was decimated and such a bad situation to walk into. He had very little chance of succeeding there as fast as they want. Got paid but hurt the reputation. Different people have different priorities.
Just wish some of these highly successful G5 coaches would actually enjoy their jobs and the fact they already get paid more than 99% of Americans and stay put and build a dynasty. So many of them have failed miserably recently after moving to P5. Napier has held on a long time and I respect that.
Love you Scott. If he gets fired he'll get a HC job somewhere else pretty damn quick.

Re: Louisville v Ole Miss
If Napier suddenly has a 3 year stretch of losing seasons at UL he will get fired there. Only difference will be Satterfields family will be set for life and Napier will be coaching Blinn College for the rest of his.Ncmtn wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 9:09 pmSatterfield was going to leave for money eventually no matter what, but I said from day 1 that leaving for the Louisville job was a mistake. Satt took an opportunity that nearly anyone would.

Re: Louisville v Ole Miss
Napier is making $2 million a year now at ULL plus all the money he already made in the previous years. He’s set for life with even a basic understanding of financial management and investing. Life isn’t all about more and more money. It’s amazingly sad how many people think it is.
Not hating on Satterfield one bit though. I would love to see him succeed.

Re: Louisville v Ole Miss
I seem to recall some message board posters at another university who were calling for his firing after 2013 and into 2014. Quit on Satterfield at your own risk. The grass isn't always greener (or bluer) on the other side. I wish him luck, and wish us more luck.

I’m hoping they give him the 5 years. Patience and stability can only help Louisville come out from this problem.

Re: Louisville v Ole Miss
Frankly, the deck was stacked against him at Louisville from the get-go. I've spent time there and it is pretty boring. Plus I bet the fam would be much happier being back in the NC/SC area. Cutcliffe is getting long in the tooth, could SS end up at Duke in the near future?

Re: Louisville v Ole Miss
This was a rumor I heard before Satt left for Louisville. He and Cutt are supposedly good friends and there was apparently some talk about him taking those reins. Not sure it happens now, unless both are suddenly looking at the end of this season.Bootsy wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 10:20 amFrankly, the deck was stacked against him at Louisville from the get-go. mediocrity at Duke would be warmly welcomed there.AppinVA wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 12:40 pmI could see him ending up there or at NC State.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 12:21 pmThis was a rumor I heard before Satt left for Louisville. Not saying Satt is mediocre, but duke will always be a tough place for football. Having a competitive team consistently could keep him around for quite a while

Perhaps Ole Miss is really good? But yeah UL got spanked last night and fans are delusional. If they are smart they will let his contract play out....
