The number one goal is to win the conference, and despite the marked improvement of the SBC, I like our chances as good as anyone’s right now.

I like our chances too but I think the conference as a whole has taken a step back this year. Coastal is very good. UL is still good, but might have slipped from last season. Everyone else is average to downright putrid right now, and both teams from GA fall in that category.

It's hard to judge when comparing this season to last season. All of last season should have an asterisk next to it. No one had a complete off season, or heck, even a complete regular season. Heck, we had some teams finish the season only playing 4 games. Is it true that Coastal was good? Absolutely. But we have to also acknowledge that they were being ranked and compared against teams that constantly had more players out than you'd typically see in a regular year. Has UL slipped from last year? Maybe, but they were also being ranked and compared against other teams in the covid-impacted season. I'm not trying to take anything away from their accomplishments but we do need to realize that any positives or negatives about last season need to be seen through the lens of just how weird last year was. I don't think you can compare this year's teams to last year's teams and reach a fair assessment. Now, does Coastal look good this year? Sure, but the toughest team they've played so far is El Citadel so excuse me if I'm not ready to say they're "really" good yet.

Except he mostly is right. This team is good enough to take criticism. The day we stop criticizing the team is the day we don’t care.

I'm not sure the SBC is greatly improved. I think the top 4 teams can play with anyone, but it goes downhill after that. We may very well see 4 teams go 6-2 or better and see the rest at/or below .500

Glad I’m not the only one that feels this way. I think we are strong, Louisiana is strong but down a step from last season and Coastal maybe even.

Southern Alabama looks…better from awful
Ga State worse from last year
Ga Southern awful
Troy way down from the Neal Brown era
ULM irrelevant
Ark State even from last year, maybe better
Texas State slightly up from awful


So our bottom 3 I think have actually got better but our middle has stagnated or gotten worse.

I strongly disagree. I don’t like everything they say nor the way they always do it, but they are the voice of our students and early 20’s fanbase. And wildly passionate App fans!

They will continue to mature, become donors and have families and support the program for decades.

The day we don’t have folks like them is the day the future for our program is bleak.

Glad I’m not the only one that feels this way. I think we are strong, Louisiana is strong but down a step from last season and Coastal maybe even.

A little early in the season but I like your assessment of our Conference mates. Ark State has an explosive offense but a WEAK defense. Can't just show up and beat anybody in this Conference (maybe ULM?). Playing ULL & ASt on the road will be challenging. #BEATELON

They're not passionate, they're grandstanding self-promoters looking for a crisis to throw gasoline on and then demand faster water. Fans who blame the QB for a loss are simpletons.

I don’t disagree. I was referring to the improvement of the 2-3 teams we’d have to beat to win the conference. As Coastal and ULL, do not play each other, we most likely don’t have the luxury of dropping a game and getting help down the road, like we did a few years ago. We would also be wise not to sleep on Troy and Ark State.
Of course, we just need to win out and everything takes care of itself.

That’s your opinion. As a twenty something myself I have seen the good he has done for the fan base that is my age.

Bingo. I know people like Ethan Joyce is a great follow for all your app news but overall I feel Twitter is a cancer to society, much like Facebook.
