Re: Why
Still not anybody saying we are not any good. We are saying not as good as expected and this proves it. There is time to get better for sure but we are not where we thought we were.Cro-Magnon App wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 5:45 pmToo many hollering “we’re not any good.” So what’s good? That's not App State solid and I think Clark is better than that.savoyspecial21 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 5:16 pmClark is a solid coach.
But three or four losses a season seems about right for him.

Re: Why
You guys can praise the final score and make whatever excuses you want, but the team that played today is 7 - 4 at best this season. This was not the effort I expected after a close game against Miami.

Re: Why
This team, the one we saw today, will lose to coastal and ULL. And Marshall. We are looking at 9-3 with this performance.
Dress it up how you will, this game was a pig.
And Miami got blown out by a bottom tier BIG 10 team.

Re: Why
Some games just aren’t highlight reels, in spite of the opponent. The “perfect” 1972 Miami Dolphins had their closest game all season against the 4-11-1 Bills (a 24-23 win that didn’t cover). It was a W that still counted then, and now. 1-0 this week. Beat Marshall.

Re: Why
Meh, I’m sure we put an effort into scouting Elon, but I imagine it was a small one. We were very vanilla on defense and it showed. Of course I would have liked to see 42 points scored in the first half and a little more defense, but App won and the victory was never hugely in doubt. Our defense has had much better showings in the other 2 games, I’m pretty confident in their ability.

Re: Why
Win? Yes. Ugly? Yes. Different defensive scheme than Miami and ECU. Only gave up 10 points on soft coverage and not much pressure on QB. Offense good passing yardage, I'm a little disappointed in rushing numbers but will take it. We will see a different game plan for Marshall for sure as we will each foe we face. I don't think we have NY6 team but we should be competitive in every game we play. I don't see 10 wins being out of the question. If I'm not mistaken looziana had their first 10 plus win season ever just last year. Yah think we are spoiled? I am.

Re: Why
I’m diametrically opposed to this outlook. I think we best all 3. Our team just gave their all in a tough game at Miami. Probably tough to get back up for Elon who none of these players see them as an old rivalry as is older dudes might. Michigan St is pretty good they ran their big back with a lot of success as we should have, heard the announcers say their staff brought in 41 transfers to rebuild which showed, I don’t see them on the bottom this year. I don’t know, but i’d say we didn’t offer anything to scout. With all the experienced talent, gentlemen’s bet we win out.
My only beef with this season so far is when it’s nut cutting time, we need to ride our big back.

What are you talking about? Coastal beat 1-2 Buffalo by 3 points. UL beat their FCS team by 3 points. Marshall has looked pretty evenly matched with ECU through the first half. We didn't look great today, but nobody else on our schedule has looked any better.

Re: Why
Take a step back and look at the big picture.
This game means nothing in the big scheme of things except we beat Elon by 34 points. The game was never in doubt and since we have a short week I imagine we spent a good deal of time working on Marshall not Elon. Means nothing regarding how many games we win and lose this season. I also think we were a little flat after last week. We're going to be fine.

UL blew the doors off of Ohio, an FBS team.appvette wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 7:56 pmWhat are you talking about? Coastal beat 1-2 Buffalo by 3 points. UL beat their FCS team by 3 points. Marshall is beating the crap out of an FBS team.
We looked bad against an FCS team. That’s the problem
