Re: Article: Projecting the First Loss for the Remaining Undefeated Teams
People are not against coastal winning games. People are tired of the slobbering over the fact that they’ve had one Good season and ESPN and their ilk are crowning them the next boise state or hell Cincinnati for that matter. As an app fan I do take issue with that. I also take issue with posters who lament we would love to be where they are. I don’t even know where to start with that take

I think it’s humorous Coastal is identified with Myrtle Beach. It’s in Conway people…. the town of the traffic jam on the way to the beach. Right up the road from Aynor.

Coastal was once a community college referred to demeaningly as UCLA.

I hope our team sees this and wants to avoid whatever dumb stunt they hope to pull if they beat us.

Re: Article: Projecting the First Loss for the Remaining Undefeated Teams
I think Coastal is a good team. Are they elite, that is yet to be determined.
They have some great players for the schemes that they run. Their coach has been successful (against us too).
As far as their schedule goes, it has definitely helped them to be undefeated and move up in the poles. They have developed confidence and they have taken care of business. However, out of 130 teams in FBS, they have played teams with total defensive rankings of 78,95,107, 124, 129, and 130. The offensive rankings of their opponents are 37, 45, 75, 113, 128, and 130. Are they a contender or a pretender. You can be average and look good against the teams that they have played.
It's interesting to see that ESPN gives us a slight edge against them even though we are unranked and they are ranked 15th.
Get by UL baby, then we can give these chickens what they deserve.
PS-the video above is the dumbest thing I've seen. Please don't ever let us do something like that....

Coastal is good. It's hard to make a case they're not a lot better than a team we've played this year. I can't imagine what the line will be when we play them. But they are better than we are. Can we win, sure. But they are better than we are.

I disagree with parts of your assessment. Overall, I think our team is better regarding talent. I think their coach and their scheme on offense is perfect for G5 football and they are out scheming everyone they play. Hopefully dale is planning something beautiful.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 2:28 pmCoastal is good. It's hard to make a case they're not a lot better than a team we've played this year. Agreed-we really don’t know how good CCU is or can be. They haven’t played anyone at this point, and watching last night showed me nothing. AState defense was bad, terrible at times.yosef69 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 2:38 pmI disagree with parts of your assessment. Overall, I think our team is better regarding talent. I think they've beaten up a pretty bad schedule. They haven't played anyone (Buffalo?) good as ECU, Miami, or Marshall, maybe even Ga State. Elon looks better than Butch Jones team. They have a few really good players on both sides of the ball. I'd say APP -5 to them, after we beat UL. We owe Coastal a good APP kicking.yosef69 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 2:38 pmI disagree with parts of your assessment. Overall, I think our team is better regarding talent. If you don't think Coastal is quite a bit better than Marshall, we can respectfully disagree. To me our red zone defense has been great. But I think Coastal is another level. We can win the game. But, boy, they are good. That's my only point.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 2:28 pmCoastal is good. It's hard to make a case they're not a lot better than a team we've played this year. I think it should be a pickem on a neutral so I think a good line would be app -3. But they’re darlings and Vegas wants even money so they’ll definitely be favored even if it’s by a point or twoBlack Saturday wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 2:58 pmI think they've beaten up a pretty bad schedule. Re: Article: Projecting the First Loss for the Remaining Undefeated Teams
What exactly are you basing this on? The inflated 15 next to their name? Coastal's opponents have a cool 8-21 combined record. And if you subtract the Citadel it's 6-19. They haven't played a team with a winning record yet and as been mentioned before, ECU, Miami, Marshall and perhaps Georgia State are all better than anyone they have played. So I'm a bit surprised as an App fan you are so quick to raise the white flag. The certainty of which you are willing to concede that "sure" we can win is curious at best.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 2:28 pmCoastal is good. Since moving up we haven't beaten a ranked team. Time to change the narrative.

Just remember...
1. Beat ULL first, go 1-0
2. Coastal has everything to lose...App has nothing to lose. How will that affect things?
