Coastal Rejection?
I am not on twitter but just received a very disturbing phone call. It seems that the Coastal Alum Assoc. made arrangements to gather at a restaurant in Boone. It seems word got out and folks on social media threatened to boycott the restaurant because of this. So the restaurant contacted them and cancelled them in fear of it hurting their business. If this is true and it seems that it is this needs to corrected immediately. We are always talking about wanting teams to come to Boone and this is the face we want to show the public?

No it isn't. I live in the Myrtle Beach area and am welcomed everywhere in Co nway wearing my App gear.

Re: Coastal Rejection?
I am told it was on twitter. Someone then went to the Coastal alum page and it was there also and stated they were looking for another venue. Again I am NOT on twitter so this is second hand but from a VERY reliable source.

I hate to hear that. I really wish we, as fans, students and alumni, would hold outselves to a higher standard.
I've always thought we should strive to win with class, and act that way as well.

Re: Coastal Rejection?
Some CCU alums asked for a reservation and were given one. They (CCU) then advertised it as the official gathering and began promotion.

Re: Coastal Rejection?
While I am not saying this did not happen, I do find it odd that the establishment called them and said they were going to cancel for fear of a "boycott". Having worked in that industry for a long time I have never discussed the reason things had to change or cancel with potential customers. Just doesn't make sense.

Re: Coastal Rejection?
If they (ccu) phrased it as a reservation for a table them turned into something much larger and “official” then I’m fine with it. This is nothing and I think it’s almost funny

I guess that I didn’t realize that Watauga County was a hotbed for Coastal alums.

Re: Coastal Rejection?
Possible they set up a reservation for a few people then started promoting it to a large group of people and would be too many for the restaurant?

Re: Coastal Rejection?
Guys, this isn't true. There was a brief misunderstanding on twitter that Ransoms was advertising to the CCU fans a CCU party. They aren't and didn't. Just a group of CCU folks picked them as a place to eat. Ransom's statement basically said they will feed anyone who is hungry. But GO APP! (paraphrasing). It's not a ding on Ransom's, or on either App or CCU. We are welcoming as many of them as want to come to watch their team get their asses whooped.
