Draft Kings is becoming future big daddy in sports betting. I don't bet on games, but I'm betting on DKNG stock.yosef69 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 7:52 amThis is very surprising and goes against most computer models which are usually within a point. Maybe these oddsmakers don’t follow little APP. I was thinking we’d be favored by nearly a TD based on watching ULL play, but they make spreads for a living.

Re: ULL discussion
Here is a fun stat.
ULL has been out gained by at least 80 yards in every game but one this year. They beat and outgained Ohio badly. But even Nicholls outgained them. I think ULL is a bit of fools gold with their record and could easily be 2-3 or even 1-4 right now. Rarely do this, but I would take the Apps big, 35-14ish type score. More than cover any spread.

There appears to be three really good teams in the conference at this point. We play two of them ,as does La La , CCU plays one , us.Shame it's not a round robin.I like our chances the next two weeks.

I never gamble, but might just have to throw some coin on the Neers. I don't see this being close at all.

Re: ULL discussion
Miami was overall a tougher game, I believe. ECU is looking like a quality opponent now. Marshall may have lost to MTSU but they fumbled the ball SIX times in a rainy game and were still within recovering an onside kick of getting a chance to drive to win.
I believe App has been tested by the out of conference schedule in ways that will pay off over the course of the next two games. We saw some benefit in the 2nd half of the Georgia State game once App picked up after coming our a little flat.

Re: ULL discussion
I don't see any way that this game gets to 33-31. I've watched Louisiana and while pretty efficient on offense, I don't see them scoring 31 points. If they do score 31 points, App loses this game. Napier plays an SEC brand of ball where possessions are limited and you must take advantage of any and all miscues, as we have seen recently.
Based on what I've seen, I see this playing out a lot more like the Championship Game in 2019 as far as App's offense is concerned. There is a ton of focus going into this game from both teams but Ponce has very clearly elevated the talent on the roster far above what they reached last year. Overall numbers aren't that much better but efficiency in the run game is much better.
With Louisiana running Cover 2 almost exclusively the offensive line is going to have to do their job and Brice is going to have to take what he can get. A five yard pass, a four yard pass, take off and run if you have to, etc. When the Cover 2 beater is called, the shot has to be hit.

Re: ULL discussion
I would assume if they are playing like that on D and we have 3 healthy RB1’s then we’ll be running a lot. But would assume they will try to stack the box as most teams would currently thinking our passing game is worse than our running game.

Re: ULL discussion
After reading some of these comments I had to go check a few stats. We are currently ranked 17th in the country in total offense. We just played a game without our top 3 backs to include DH. We played a half without two guys I believe. La is allowing over 400 yards per game. If they can drop 31 on us we have major issues on defense that have not been present for 5 games. I’m not saying we blow them out but this App team is probably the most balanced from an offensive standpoint that I can recall. With the 3-5 horses we have running the ball I can a 250 yard game if we keep them out of the box.

This. I would suggest unfollowing/ignoring that account. It is full of mis-information and drama. I'm a little surprised App hasn't issued a cease and desist, as it seems almost like an official App account and is highly misleading

The young man who runs that account is autistic. He is a very passionate fan. Although, his information is sometimes off, I truly think his heart is in the right place. The Rock wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 8:54 amGonzo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 8:34 amThat’s…uh… not an account you should take very seriously. Re: ULL discussion
I believe this game will be a real brawl and though we should win, it's college football and anything can happen; just ask Bama. I worry too many of us are overlooking this game in anticipation of CC. I know you guys will say the team is locked, loaded and focused on the Louisiana game (I'm sure they are) but in my experience when fans are fixated on future games instead of the one right in front of them, the team can't help but be distracted. Any minor distraction might be too much to win on Tuesday and I'm worried. Just win baby, 1-0!
