As a young boy I grew up a UNC fan. Never heard of ASU. When I got older I visited ASU, loved it, applied to it and got accepted. Never applied to another school. Just ASU.
Wife also graduated at ASU.
Child graduated at ASU.
Season ticket holder at ASU for years.
Never gave a penny to UNC or any other school, ever.
Bought a 2nd home in the Boone area 3 years ago just because I love the area/school.

BUT, because it is "known" on this board that I still pull for UNC as my second school I am an outcast because I am not an "only ASU" fan.
Who are YOU to make up the rules on who can be a fan of ASU and the criteria for such?

This board is supposed to be about discussion of ASU and other things. I get blasted for saying something about UNC on the "Other Schools" folder.

I also didn't think you were allowed to call other posters names? I was just called "scum of the earth" and it was allowed by the moderator. To that I am disappointed because they are supposed to monitor these things and not allow such...

I am so glad that I love ASU and the athletic program because if I based my love from the rules set forth by posters on this board I would hate ASU. Posters have even told me to "quit" being a fan and take my fandom to UNC... lol

To make some/most happy I am taking a break from this board.
I won't let a few people make me dislike ASU but that's what's happening. These same people blast other schools for being "smug".
I love ASU and sadly must get away from this board for awhile so that I can continue that love for my school.

I personally have no problem with people liking multiple schools. People like multiple nfl teams, car brands, grocery stores, women, you name it. Not one person on here is loyal to one type of everything in their lives. Hell I eat a different cereal every morning. Don't see what the fuss is as we should be happy and welcoming to anyone who is interested in supporting Appalachian State athletics.

I guess I must be the exception to the rule. With regard to college athletics, I am an App fan, and I don't give a fat rat's hind end about ANY other college teams, regardless of the sport or level of competition.

I personally have no problem with people liking multiple schools. People like multiple nfl teams, car brands, grocery stores, women, you name it. Not one person on here is loyal to one type of everything in their lives. Hell I eat a different cereal every morning. Don't see what the fuss is as we should be happy and welcoming to anyone who is interested in supporting Appalachian State athletics.

There has been a distinction made between casual interest in another school and wishing terrible things on your alma mater for the sake of App fans having less ammo when attacking UNC.

(I sure hope ASU never gets any academic problems. If they do some of you will eat crow. Can't wait for some of you that make up "cheating" things to do the same to ASU if it should ever occur.. Oh wait! but, but, but..)

The difference is App was the only choice for some of us and unfortunately it was the fall back for many who did not have the grades to go to their first choice. I think today more than not App is the first choice for our in coming freshman. It is much more competitive these days. Those that can go to App and those that can't end up at UNCC or Western. I wonder if they get ripped over there for letting their Black and Gold bleed out occasionally
