AACUSA gets pretty thin after Memphis, SMU, and Temple. I’d put App, Cajuns, Coastal and Marshall against there top 4 and expect to win at least2, probably 3 of them.

For now.goapps93 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 12:07 pmBut the AAC (and the SBC) have something CUSA doesn't have...ESPN. CUSA has little to no money or TV exposure.AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 11:36 amThis model of AAC pulling the six proposed schools looks glaringly similar to the model CUSA used 8 yrs ago. That model failed miserably. If you look at the six schools, all of them are sub-500 performance recent and lifetime in football. Since football is the driver in this move, that means they are back filling the loss of their three best members with six extremely bad members. This is not a sustainable business model and destined for failure. Over time the SBC will overtake new AAC/CUSA 2.0
But eventually I believe the ESPN money will dwindle because they didn't pay when SIX of those teams were in CUSA, why would they pay in CUSA 2.0. Fact is, nobody wants to watch those teams, a bunch of losing programs, there is just not any marketing/TV value in them.

I Appsolutly do not wish to have JMU in the SBC. As it is we have no purple here and simply I hate purple. I would think hard about ECU though.

I don’t know man. I would have a hard time rooting for Coastal in any situation.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 12:39 pmAACUSA gets pretty thin after Memphis, SMU, and Temple. Sounds like it’s official (though not officially announced). The East is gonna be a beast. Could rival the ACC football divisions in many years
Give 'em hell!

East will be ridiculously stacked. Many more versions of Wednesday’s game incoming…BeauFoster wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 1:50 pmSounds like it’s official (though not officially announced). The East is gonna be a beast. Could rival the ACC football divisions in many years

P6 ends the moment Cincy, UCF, and Houston leave.
Charlotte has a losing record vs new Sunbelt teams (including FCS JMU)
App State has an undefeated record vs new AAC teams.
Nuff said.

Oh I agree. It won't stop the annoyances from piping up. Shame we don't play Charlotte sooner than 2026...MAD Doctor wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:11 pmP6 ends the moment Cincy, UCF, and Houston leave.

Charlotte already destroyed one conference, now they’re heading to destroy the AAC. Need to make room for ECU.

Re: AAC just lost their big 3
I would have jumped without hesitation to the AAC if we had been offered the spot left open when UConn left...but not a chance with the big 3 gone and with the new teams going in...plus Memphis and SMU will jump at some point....unless the new 6 newbies bring down their programs to their level...

Look, I think the delusional fan base at UNC Commuter is lame too, but some of y’all are obsessed with them. Why even concern yourselves with them? They aren’t relevant. If we continue to do what we do, we will continue to emerge as a national brand, much like Boise.

Re: AAC just lost their big 3
This. I barely remember they have a football team most of the time. Did they not just get destroyed last night? I saw them pop up on Hulu and then checked later and they had been trounced.app97 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 7:45 pmLook, I think the delusional fan base at UNC Commuter is lame too, but some of y’all are obsessed with them. Same. Had no idea they played last night until seeing the score on the espn app this morning….probably due to the amazing c-USA tv deal.appstatealum wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 7:53 pmThis. Good points. UNCC is not relevant and I hate purple, too. Except the Vikings.
