AAC just lost their big 3

AACUSA gets pretty thin after Memphis, SMU, and Temple. I’d put App, Cajuns, Coastal and Marshall against there top 4 and expect to win at least2, probably 3 of them.

This model of AAC pulling the six proposed schools looks glaringly similar to the model CUSA used 8 yrs ago. That model failed miserably. If you look at the six schools, all of them are sub-500 performance recent and lifetime in football. Since football is the driver in this move, that means they are back filling the loss of their three best members with six extremely bad members. This is not a sustainable business model and destined for failure. Over time the SBC will overtake new AAC/CUSA 2.0

But the AAC (and the SBC) have something CUSA doesn't have...ESPN. CUSA has little to no money or TV exposure.

For now.

But eventually I believe the ESPN money will dwindle because they didn't pay when SIX of those teams were in CUSA, why would they pay in CUSA 2.0. Fact is, nobody wants to watch those teams, a bunch of losing programs, there is just not any marketing/TV value in them.

I Appsolutly do not wish to have JMU in the SBC. As it is we have no purple here and simply I hate purple. I would think hard about ECU though.

I would have jumped without hesitation to the AAC if we had been offered the spot left open when UConn left...but not a chance with the big 3 gone and with the new teams going in...plus Memphis and SMU will jump at some point....unless the new 6 newbies bring down their programs to their level...
