This would be correct. Our offense is difficult to plan for, but probably not for the reasons that you think. We are balanced and no defense can cover the whole field, so you have to pick something to stop and take your chances with the rest. Our zone blocking scheme is very difficult for teams to defend. I have heard two coaches, one a high school coach and one a former P5 coach describe it as, if executed properly, it is the virtually impossible to stop. So the best way to have success on defense is to load the box with more than they can block and take your chances with the pass. If we hit a couple of those don field seam routes against Loseiana, the game changes dramatically.

Not sure if Clark mentioned it above but any updates on Helms injury or players who missed last weeks game? I know Tucker is out for the first half from targeting.

Re: So AL discussion
That targeting rule is completely ridiculous. A guy could commit the foul 10 seconds into the second half and he sits the first half of the next game. Commits the foul with 10 seconds left in the game, same penalty. How about just making a targeting penalty like 30 yards? Just make it more severe at the time of the infraction. If a player is really good all this does it potentially help the next opponent for a half. Makes no sense at all.

Re: So AL discussion
First off, I agree. The spirit of the rule is great, but the subjectiveness of how it’s enforced and the punishment are awful. So would you suggest a flat time limit? Say 30:00 of game clock? Your alternative isn’t unreasonable but is it anymore or less of a deterrent to the aggressor?bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 8:46 amThat targeting rule is completely ridiculous. Think we double their good WR and make the other WRs beat us? With the other QB playing he will probably run more which has been an issue at times.

I would not blame Henry if he does not play for a while. Here is an article explaining what happened.

Agreed. I would understand if Pearson had to take the rest of the 2021 season off.yosef69 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 6:11 pmExcuse my language but that is fucking brutal and just made me sick to my stomach. Awful.
I hope we have a moment of silence for them at the game and it would be great if the school or athletics program or us boosters would get some funds together to help them out. It is truly a tragedy.

Wow. I can’t imagine what that family is going through right now. Tragic is too weak a word.
