Let this thing die on here. Nobody on here knows what happened. We just keep breathing life into this. I went back and looked on their page. It was very quiet until we went on there defending our position. We all know some crap goes on out there, every single game. Both sides of the ball. I have complete faith that if any punishment is warranted Coach Clark will handle it. Let’s just shut the hell up about it!

I did not look that far in to it but it makes sense. I was bringing it up more out of laughter because they don't really know. They clearly were not on the field so they have no clue. They just know what they are told and I'm sure Gray has never lied. *sarcasm*

Re: So AL discussion
Clark was just asked about the Spurlin ejection at his Monday presser. Kinda sidestepped it at first, saying he's having convos with USA head coach Kane Wommack on it and said his focus is on Troy. Then a follow up asked what the refs told him Spurlin did and Clark said "I don't want to get into specifics on it" and repeated that he's talking to Wommack about it and "that's my statement on that."

This is really starting to sound like a bunch of old ladies bitching about who cheated in a bingo game.

Re: So AL discussion
Agreed. It is pretty simple. Just show the proof and suspend Spurlin this week or USA HC needs to backtrack and apologize for his accusation and move on. I don't see any reason why this should have lingered this far. Should have been shut down completely or announced further action against the players by end of day yesterday.

Re: So AL discussion
The refs screwed this up. No way they have any proof of the accusations. Spurlin should have never been ejected. No ejection, no issue.

Tell the whole story. He said that he had spoken with Coach Womack this morning and that they are looking into it. He didn’t sidestep it. He acknowledged that they were doing some due diligence.T-Dog wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 11:54 amClark was just asked about the Spurlin ejection at his Monday presser. Yikes.

South Alabama football coach Kane Wommack said Monday Jaguars offensive lineman Anterrious Gray was the subject of racially charged language and was spit on by an Appalachian State defensive lineman before both players were ejected from last weekend’s game.
...
A Sun Belt Conference spokesman told AL.com that the league office has a regularly-scheduled conference call with director of officiating John McDaid at 1 p.m. Monday. Any additional sanctions from the Spurlin-Gray incident will be announced later this afternoon.

Re: So AL discussion
This needs to be resolved somehow. I do find it hard to believe that no one else (or at least no one else seemed to react to it) would not have heard something said like that. Its not like the two were all alone on the field.

Re: So AL discussion
The referees have to submit a report to the league office explaining the reasons for the ejections. The So. Alabama players ejection is pretty clear. We will see what the refs say about the justification of Spurlin’s ejection.

Re: So AL discussion
True. But to say anything before the league speaks could be problematic.Rekdiver wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 1:21 pmThis isnt complicated. he either did it or he didn't.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 1:07 pmTell the whole story. Re: So AL discussion
I checked the replay and I don't think Caleb played another snap. The camera stayed on him for a while cutting between him and the USA player. He didn't play the next play, which was third down. Didn't play the muffed punt play or the next USA snap, which was their touchdown.

Re: So AL discussion
No he did not. He went in not realizing he has been ejected but was sent back out by the officials before he even lined up.

Re: So AL discussion
As you folks know Im a LIb but what is "racially charged" language? I know what racist language is and racial insults but unlcear about "charged" and I'm pretty sure given the proximity of players to both someone else had to see or hear it and a spit if it occured.
