I sure did think the HALO rule was altered or eliminated back in the early 2000s but I might be mistaken?Black Saturday wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 3:53 pmA HALO violation of the punt receiver is a foul you can see in every game you watch and never called either, just happen to called when South Al gaffed.appgrad2010 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 12:10 pmDid Helms not break his foot?
What is their to investigating? The ONLY items to investigate are: the multiple late hits clearly out of bounds not called on SO AL, the mystical flag when SO AL fumbled the punt...

Re: Troy Discussion
Upon watching the replay, I can see where the App player could have “impeded” the catch process. It appears that the receiver altered the movement of his left hand to avoid contact. Was it enough to justify the call? Debatable, but it could have looked a lot worse than it was from the ref’s vantage point.appgrad2010 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 10:13 amI sure did think the HALO rule was altered or eliminated back in the early 2000s but I might be mistaken?Black Saturday wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 3:53 pmA HALO violation of the punt receiver is a foul you can see in every game you watch and never called either, just happen to called when South Al gaffed.appgrad2010 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 12:10 pmDid Helms not break his foot?

Re: Troy Discussion
It was an extremely questionable call in my opinion. The halo rule WAS eliminated from college football years ago. You can't touch the guy before he catches the ball, but I'm pretty sure we didn't. He had at time to make his catch and missed it. The ball was coming to the receiver's right, while our player passed on his left. Don't think we impeded his access to the ball. I think the call was borderline at best. I see the argument, but don't agree with it...but I'm definitely biased.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 11:59 amUpon watching the replay, I can see where the App player could have “impeded” the catch process. Re: Troy Discussion
Is Powell or Watson supposed to be their starter? Seems Powell leads the team in stats and played a little 2 games ago. But Powell has been playing most of the games the last few weeks.

Glad our coaches and players don't think negatively like you do. Sure we could lose...but we won't.

May be negative in your eyes. But I don’t believe that I said anything untrue.I also do think the players and coaches better be thinking about these things. Respect your opponent by knowing they are good, playing on the road AND correct the sloppy play . ( excessive fumbles , interceptions and ridicules penalties.)appfanjj wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 2:03 pmGlad our coaches and players don't think negatively like you do. I think Watson is the starter who had gone down a few weeks ago against south Alabama. But he came back last week so should be good to go. Only 1 int all year

I'm sure all these things are being addressed by the coaching staff. Big game for us. We'll be ready.pop5app wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 2:27 pmMay be negative in your eyes. See that now. Only 7 TDs and 11 sacks in that time though.JPatH3292 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 3:27 pmI think Watson is the starter who had gone down a few weeks ago against south Alabama. But he came back last week so should be good to go. Only 1 int all year
Doesn't appear to be a runner either, long of 10 yds and net of -32 yds on the year.

Re: Troy Discussion
A little off subject, but didn't want to start a separate thread...does anyone in the Charlotte area know of any bars that stream app games? I may be in Charlotte right around kickoff and would be looking for a place showing the game.

Re: Troy Discussion
The folks in the Greensboro area are once again gathering at Kickback Jacks off Battleground Avenue.
CORRECTION: This is for the Championship Game on Dec. 4, assuming App is one of the participants.

Re: Troy Discussion
Someone help me understand first, the meaning of a trap game (cause I thought I knew but apparently not) and second, how could this Troy game possibly be considered one? We have 2 regular season games remaining, gotta win at least one to wrap up the East and for all intents and purposes Troy should be a tougher test than Stink. I thought a Trap Game would be the one played prior to “the big one” and a team is potentially looking past the first one and gets trapped so to speak. If our coaches and players can’t prepare and focus for every game much less this one we have a huge problem.

Re: Troy Discussion
Trap games to me, insinuate an emotional let down, which leads to a temporary loss of focus. Very much the same sentiments to your understanding. So to your point, what people seem to be thinking is that we need to only win one more game to lock up a return to Loosiana, and next week seems to be easier, so this week is a spot to lose focus. Same folks will say the same thing next week after we lock it up this week.

If you end up in the Mooresville area, Hoptown Brewing is having an App State takeover. They will have the game on 7 TVs, both inside and on the patio.
