Re: 11-22-63
I was born on his birthday 1963, he was killed same year 58 years ago today. Also my mother's birthday. She would have been 97 today.
RIP our greatest generation regardless of politics.

Re: 11-22-63
Terrible day - I was in high school, a kid in class was listening to a transistor radio - he yelled something out and the teacher admonished him for having a radio in class and then he said, "The President has been shot" -
"Montani Semper Liberi"

That occurrence didn’t cause the world to head to hell in a hand basket but it might have been the tipping point!

I was in the 5th grade drawing a picture when the announcement was made about the President. That was a time when both parties worked together for the betterment of this nation

Re: 11-22-63
Similar situation. I was in the 7th grade when the principal came over the loud speaker and asked teachers who had TVs (it wasn't our day) to turn them on. We went on about our business until the principal came back on to announce the president had been shot. The class trouble-maker confessed to our teacher that he had a transitor radio, in violation of school rules, in the cloak room. She waived any penalty and we gathered around listening to his radio to get the latest. It was a dark and gloomy weekend as Saturday morning TV had given way to the assassination.
