Pretty much expected. I just wonder if this was because of the performance or DC, return of Brice, and addition of Burger or something else? I'm guessing this is about playing time? Anyone know in this particular case?Appmountaineers19 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 11:48 amFrom what it sounds like its not too unexpected. It still leaves 4 in the QB room is you still count Goodman.

Navy will find a good landing place to fit him and wish him nothing but success. We will likely grab another portal QB with some experience to help fill the holes. Beat WKU!!!

Wonder how the players feel that stay on? Do they continually look over their shoulder wondering if some transfer is coming in to take their spot? Particularly talking about those that have stuck around for a couple of years working hard trying to develop while waiting on an opportunity to get on the field and then here comes somebody else. I know it’s the nature of the game, but loyalty must go both ways.

Transfer system has been in place in some form or fashion. The past you had to sit a year, however, it is in place. If we do not adapt to new rules, we fall behind. I hope we are active in the portal to meet our needs to be a winning program. Although I am sure we had some misses just like normal recruiting. Sutton, TD Roof, Chase and others did not begin college careers at App. St
Although I do not want to go the Michigan St route with the significant number of transfers (worked out for them this year), I want us active to better positions where the coaches believe we are weak. With Zac not coming back, we would not have won 10 games without Chase. Just my opinion.
I hope the best for Shuler. If he does not want to wait his time or believes he is ready to play now or doesn't want to compete with the others or whatever reason...good luck to him.

I was aware of Shuler's situation for a while , a lot of pressure on him to get on the field . You can connect the dots.

Valid question. I have asked that same question. Not to anyone that could give me a concrete answer though. I imagine that it is a situation where players have an idea that we need to fill some gaps and that it doesn’t mean that they aren’t good enough. There are probably conversations with young guys letting them know of the situation in the individual meeting rooms.Cro-Magnon App wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 10:44 amWonder how the players feel that stay on? Re: Next year’s depth chart..take a stab
At this point, it is hard to answer any of those questions definitively. Outside of the Super Senoirs, we know for sure that D’Marco is leaving. Chase is returning and Howell is coming back. Besides that, we don’t know. There are a few that we can speculate on returning and going, but that’s all that it really is. I heard of one that was going to hang it up back in early November, but that could have changed. I was also told that anyone that walked on Senior Day wasn’t coming back, but again, I don’t find that to be reliable.
Not sure how many we are going to sign. We have to be at 85 scholarships. So the count of Super Seniors, and transfers will affect that total. My guess is 15.
