Cincy & Bama CFP
Am I the only one that thinks the outcome of this game could have implications on G5 rankings for years to come? Bama loses or wins a close one and G5 is legitimized. Cincy loses bad and its “see, we told you they can’t play to our level”. I’m half excited, half nervous for some reason despite not having any strong interest in either team. I guess ESPN succeeded in drawing me in though.

I don't think its going to matter all that much because in 10-20 years the money movers are going to steam roll the NCAA and college is going to be a full blown minor league system that happens to have student athletes or maybe even just sponsored athletes who aren't even students.

This is gonna be ugly. It’s a shame that many feel like the hopes of all G5 schools ride on Cincinnati today. If we run the table next year I’d hope that we are in the discussion. You never know what can happen

Re: Cincy & Bama CFP
This is the very reason they left the undefeated team at #4 instead of bumping them to #3. They wanted them to have to play the highest team possible to hopefully get blown out.

Replying to my own post. I take it back. It could be a ballgame. Will see starting 2nd quarter. At least Bama looks more human on this drive and Cincy more settled in.

I lived in Alabama for 4 years back in early 2000's. If Alabama and Auburn could lose every game it would be a wonderful life. The folks down there will make yoy despise both schools.

I believe Cincy is doing okay. If they could improve against the Alabama running game, would be closer than it is. As of halftime, showing better than Notre Dame has in the past.

They are playing pretty good. I thought it would be a blowout after the first drive. You can tell the athlete difference in that Cincinnati struggles to run it but they are hanging in there tough.

Re: Cincy & Bama CFP
We've got to face the facts, G5s aren't going to beat a top 4 team in the playoffs as they are now structured. Cincy is the best I have seen, big-time QB, top RB, the best CB combo in the country, outstanding defense, experience, NFL players and they were never really in this game even though Bama was using 2nd 3rd team CBs. Doubt they would have fared much better against UGA or Mich.

No probably about it….and 2red zone failures. We’re big. Still not a terrible effort.

Re: Cincy & Bama CFP
Cincy had opportunities to keep it closer than final score. If a G5 team goes undefeated...plays 2 P5 teams of which one was pretty good (ND) and wins..they deserve to be in discussion for final four. Ohio State got waxed by Bama last year. ND has gotten waxed in the past. Play well like Cincinnati and play good nonconference schedule, you have earned the right to be in the discussion.

Anyone else cheering for Michigan in the Orange Bowl? Ever since the upset I’ve always liked them. Would love to see them get back on top again.
