I believe the largest raise in NC teacher pay came under Pat McCory? Am I wrong.

I had this professor for one class, then dropped it after the first day. All we were going to do was read Marx.

How many hours a week/day do they work? If you teach one class a day expect to get paid for one class a day. With benefits.

I cringe when someone talks down about a Domino's delivery driver. Georgia Southern grads have every right to earn a living.

Don’t they offer a masters program for Domino’s? I believe that is the area of advanced studies for grad transfers who want to play (for some ungodly reason) at that place.TurfMonkey wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 12:06 amI cringe when someone talks down about a Domino's delivery driver. Re: App Professor just wants to be paid as much as a Dominos driver
Although I disagree with the position in the article, I was a lecturer while in graduate school at App. St. There is more to teaching a class besides just showing up to teach the class. For the tenure professors, there were more responsibilities. With that said, it is a pretty good gig from a hours perspective compared to a typical year in my profession.

Absolutely agree. Actions by legislative leaders like Mark Robinson, Tim Moore and others are eroding the quality of our state universities.

Re: App Professor just wants to be paid as much as a Dominos driver
One of my best friends left the corporate world about 14 years ago, went to grad school, got his PHD, landed a professor position in a NC 4-year university and has proclaimed that being a professor is "the best freakin' job in the world." He's not even tenured yet but it's coming. He's secured millions in grants (he doesn't get all of that but he does get a small piece). He said that he could never go back to the corporate world because he's too spoiled now.

Yes, they are the sane ones that would be servant leaders, but are unelectable due to polarization of both parties.
We can't find humble leaders that are there for the people not a power grab. It's like Rome.

Re: App Professor just wants to be paid as much as a Dominos driver
I'd argue that anything more than 15 an hour, including tips, is overpaid for a delivery driver. I say that as someone who has done it in the last year for extra cash. That 23 an hour likely only exists from midnight to close on thur, fri, and sat. The rest of the time, it is closer to 8 an hour. If Boortz would rather have that job, I have no doubt the school can fill his position with someone who wants to be there.

Be on the lookout for a strongly worded letter from the App Faculty Senate in your mailbox.wb247 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 8:09 pmI'd argue that anything more than 15 an hour, including tips, is overpaid for a delivery driver. And the raises they got from the other guys was just money that was stolen, sorry, borrowed, from the pension fund. If you want to know what we value take a look at our new football locker rooms. I love football but truth is truth.Rekdiver wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 10:00 amMaybe....because he didnt raise during the first 3 years of his term......................and then it was a crap raiseWoodstovegang wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 11:33 pmI believe the largest raise in NC teacher pay came under Pat McCory? Yes it does, we're following in their footsteps, only difference we're doing it 10x faster.
