2022 Baseball Mega Thread

Diamond Apps battled hard yesterday. Really good win against a starter and reliever who will be playing professional baseball soon. Manufactured runs when we needed it. Hamilton pitched his tail off and Ellington came into the game in a tight spot and shut it down. Proud of how we came back after last nights game. Campbell is a really good program and they will be playing in a regional again this year.

Campbell went tovthe NCAA tournament last year and have a lot back this season.

They have gone 3 out of the last 4 years…. The only year they didn’t was when covid canceled the season

If only college football adopted a partial scholarship offer system. Especially in the NIL era. School gets 85 to divvy up among a 100 man roster. If you think you’re going to be a big NIL earner you could forgo a higher percentage of your scholarship.

When that used to happen the big schools stockpiled 125+ players, the 85 / 105 rules came into being to stop that.

Well, every time I’ve advocated reducing scholarships to 75 it’s met with a lot of resistance because it “takes away opportunities”. It doesn’t if FCS is allowed to offer more.

I guess we can wait a bit to bury yet another App team after one disappointing loss. Those quick to judge must not know much about baseball. The best MLB teams every season lose about 62 or more of their 162 games often badly.
