The average person does not know the difference between Campbell and Old Dominion. You should have just scheduled a bunch of Campbells and lower tier fcs teams the first two years.

ODU might have hung a hundred on you, now you are asking James Madison to do it.

Have you looked at our schedule? Year 1 is mixture of Big South and DII teams. Year 2 is a step up some SoCon teams mixed in. Playing JMU will serve as measurement of how competitive we are or aren't just as ODU or App would be.

you are correct, the kids have not signed the LOI, and yes, I would be surprised if they all sign with us in January, but, answer me this, how many UNCC recruits, who have verbally committed to you, have also strong interest from BCS schools or atleast mid major established programs? Almost all our recruits are going to get stronger interest from BCS/mid major programs as the year go on, and many will probably receive schlorship offers. This, in my opinion is a good thing, it means we are getting serious attention and consideration already from kids who, just a couple of years ago, would have not even considered us. Again, my point is, App is years ahead of UNCC in terms of recruiting, facilities, tradition, fan support, both at home games and away games, financial support (yosef club raised over 3 million last year), at this time, and in the near future, it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense from UNCC's perspective, and App's perspective to be playing. You guys get your house in order, establish yourselves, catch App, which I have a feeling you will eventually, and then lets talk about a ballgame.

Yes I have seen your schedule. Your 2013 schedule right now is exactly what it should be. There was never a reason to play ODU the first year. A startup team full of redshirt freshman have no business on the same field as a top tier fcs team. It would have been a slaughter.

There is not one thing that is appealing. I certainly hope that Cobb and Co. are using more energy to get something going with ECU, or similar, than they are trying to get this going. A series with UNCC is not what I've had in mind all these years hoping for the FBS move.
Maybe that's the way people take it, but I took it as "we're ready, willing and able to fight you any time any place". They should have just added just one more statement "one game or a series, it don't matter to us". The last statement would have just taken away Rose's excuse that "they just can't commit that far out".

In our last 5 or 6 years we have had years where we raised 5.7 mil, 5.2, 4.1 and a few over 3 - so congrats on raising over 3? We were raising that WITHOUT the most popular sport in the nation. Think about that for just a second.

I am also assuming you are talking just football at this point since you are talking support at home and away games and tradition. So you are saying we don't have a history of great fan support during the games that we haven't played? Yup you got us there.

Once again it is July. The strong interest from BCS programs could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on whether you keep the kid or not. Our recruiting so far this year isn't highly ranked but last year’s class had guys with offers from BCS programs.

As far as what App is ahead of us at, I give you tradition and fan support (football only). 49er club donations were higher than $3 million per year before football. Other than on the field performance and stadium size there is nothing else we have to "catch up" with.

soooo... we agree that App has better tradtion, fan support, (we have averaged over 28 thousand the last 5 or 6 years), don't even try and tell me you are going to match that, anytime soon, size of stadium, and, and I know this last one is subjective, but we have some of the best facilities in the country, not just mid major, so again, you guys are making my point for me, App is, years ahead of UNCC, Im not picking on you guys, or putting you down, this is just the way it is, the same way, ECU is years ahead of APP, and the same way UNC is years ahead of ECU. IN the coming year we are striving to catch ECU, the same way you should be striving in the coming years to catch us.

Funny how when UNC-Charlotte stole Capel from us that he was one of their best players. Now that he has decided to come to APP he isn't. Hmmm

I could really care less when we play UNC-Charlotte or if we play them. There are bigger fish in the sea to be going after than UNC-Charlotte. Why not try to get ECU, Memphis, Marshall, Miami (Ohio) or even an Academy school. UMASS?

All those are bigger than UNC-Charlotte.

When is the last time you guys had 3K at a sporting event that wasn't a basketball game against Davidson or WCU? Also, you do know that we are expanding our stadium to 25K in 2015 right? So we are 2 years behind.

that's been my argument the whole time, why are we worrying about Charlotte, when we have Wake, ECU, etc waiting? Let Charlotte, learn to walk before they run, when they get established, then we will talk.

you can try and twist and turn it anyway you want, the bottom line is, you guys are not going to be competivive with us on the football field, on a consistant yearly bases for a long time, my best guess, 6-8 years. You can come on our board, talk yourselves into believing your ready to compete at our level, but in my view, it aint going to happen anytime soon. I guess time will tell who is right.

Why would ECU trade a home and home with you when they are doing that with NC State, WVU, VT, and BYU?

And Wake is a little busy:

Teams aren't exactly clamoring to come to Boone.

I would like to see Wake and ECU come to Boone, but I've never seen anybody post a reason that they would want to.

UNCC delusions of grandeur aside, Judy just traded a guaranteed double digit loss to an FBS team for a guaranteed double digit loss to an FCS team. I'm sure the nations most ignorant group of people will keep driving to Harrisburg for that.

Way to go, Medusa.

I'm kind of a big deal

Only UNCc fans feel that way about me. They're the only ones that have earned my full wrath.

I promise I'm super cool in person.

Not crazy about playing UNC-Charlotte in football right now,
and do not think they are really wanting to play just yet.
However, it would stop a lot of needless bickering. So with that
in mind I would like to get it out of the way and go ahead and play.

Oh assured you did it? It see your deductive reasoning is just as poor in a normal conversation as it is in your sports talk.

I know ten or so members of this board personally and I don't need to convince a troll like you of anything about me.

I know I'm a celebrity with you all and everything, but lets just get back to you begging the masses to take UNCc seriously and fighting the uphill battle that comes with the territory of being an obnoxious UNCc fan.
