Re: NC state Series
2023, 3 of 4 OOC are in contiguous states (GW, @UNC, ECU, @Wyoming)
2024, 4 of 4 OOC are in contiguous states (ETSU, @Clemson, @ECU, Liberty)
2025, 2 of 3 OOC are in contiguous states (NCSU, Toledo, @SC)
2026, 3 of 3 OOC are in NC!!!! (@ECU, Charlotte, @NCSU)
2027, 2 of 2 OOC are in contiguous states (@SC, @Charlotte)
Not counting this year, of the future 16 OOC games currently on the books, 9 will be played in North Carolina, 14 will be in contiguous states, 6 are against Power 5. This is a master class in scheduling!

Didn’t realize that NCSU would be coming to Boone first! Agree with all the comments about the AD doing a fantastic job and OOC schedule being better than ever before!APPdiesel wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 4:27 pm2023, 3 of 4 OOC are in contiguous states (GW, @UNC, ECU, @Wyoming)

and when the "downside" is a trip to Wyoming, you know you've got it pretty good.APPdiesel wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 4:27 pm2023, 3 of 4 OOC are in contiguous states (GW, @UNC, ECU, @Wyoming)

Re: NC state Series
I wouldn’t want us scheduling long distance road trips more than once every 3 or 4 seasons but I’m totally down for the exotic road trip every couple of years. The players deserve it. Wyoming came to Boone in 2015. If I recall correctly our return trip to Laramie was supposed to be in 2018 or 19 and we pushed it back to make room for some P5s. I’d love for us to schedule schools like Arizona/Arizona State, Cal, Kansas, Maryland. All winnable games also.mike87 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 7:18 amand when the "downside" is a trip to Wyoming, you know you've got it pretty good.APPdiesel wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 4:27 pm2023, 3 of 4 OOC are in contiguous states (GW, @UNC, ECU, @Wyoming)

Re: NC state Series
I don't have good memories of my last trip to Laramie. The rain and breaking in the spread offense equated to the worst game I've ever attended, even worse than the VT game that was never played.

Re: NC state Series
I remember when we first went to Wyoming and it was a cool trip. It is a long way for our team to go but I liked their stadium. Hopefully our result is not the same from the last time we went to Wyoming. That 53-7 spanking was bad. It was good to get them back in Boone. We need to win the series with this next one. Did anyone else on here go to Wyoming back in 2004?APPdiesel wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 7:24 amI wouldn’t want us scheduling long distance road trips more than once every 3 or 4 seasons but I’m totally down for the exotic road trip every couple of years. Stay in Denver and drive up to Lamarie if doing a quick trip, if you have more time lots of options in the area.

Hoping either the Rockies or Broncos are in town or for a decent concert at Red Rocks.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 8:31 amI am looking forward to Wyoming trip for football and tourism. Been like 20+ years since I have been to the state

Hmm, want to go to the Wyoming game now. Wished Jackson Hole was closer to that school though, enjoyed my trip there a decade ago.

Agreed. In preliminary discussion with the wife, we are planning to spend the entire week and incorporate JH and Grand Tetons...if we are able to go...

My wish list is to get Colorado on the schedule. Only stadium I've been to that rivals the rock's beauty and the bison running the field for the entrance is unbelievable.APPdiesel wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 7:24 amI wouldn’t want us scheduling long distance road trips more than once every 3 or 4 seasons but I’m totally down for the exotic road trip every couple of years. Re: NC state Series
My Dad and I plan to go to Wyoming. A few friends have expressed interest in going as well. I think App will have a decent contingent of fans there considering how far away from Boone this game is.
I'd love to know how we got connected with Wyoming in the first place. This match up seems more like something out of a video game rather then real life.

My wife and daughter are stuck on Hawaii, so doubt I'll talk them into Wyoming. Hard sell to those cold natured people.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 9:24 amAgreed. My family plans to make the Wyoming trip but it's a lot closer to us in Oregon than North Carolina.

Re: NC state Series
I thought the crowd we had in Wyoming and Montana both were better than I was anticipating back then. I know it won't be like when we go to Georgia State but I would imagine we will take a better crowd than what most expect. It is a fun trip and unique. We don't play anyone in the league with that same type of setting. Even though I have already been out there I will try to go again.kornegaylw wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 11:20 amMy Dad and I plan to go to Wyoming. Will most likely stay that way. DOOK wants NOTHING to do with us. They need to come around and man up!! It would bring good money in to play App State.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 12:20 pmDuke is the last DI team in the state we have not played at this point I think and played in Boone also.

I don't blame Duke for staying away. I wish they would play us but the good gate from it probably does not outweigh the impact of a beating by a SBC team that is so close to them. If we somehow get them on the schedule I will wonder what their AD is smoking.AppState89 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 1:25 pmWill most likely stay that way. DOOK wants NOTHING to do with us. Their AD should only be thinking about gate. Gate, gate, gate! Can we sell tickets by booking this team?AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 2:20 pmI don't blame Duke for staying away. Re: NC state Series
Of course they would sell tickets but if I'm the AD I'm looking for G5 games I can win. I would think Charlotte, ODU, and FCS games would be safer bets and they could still bring in money hosting them. I would honestly expect to win by 24+.APPdiesel wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 2:34 pmTheir AD should only be thinking about gate. Gate, gate, gate!
