I never bet on an App game.
Quick aside, "never bet on your teams" is good gambling advice. Your passion can cloud your judgment.
Never bet on your team unless its vs UNCC @ -10 or -14 the week after we should have beat Penn State.

That was a no brainer. The last time i bet on App, but it was easy money.

If anyone sees this kid... please do what you need to do...😂...from their message board...
My son goes to App Stare and got a free student ticket. He’s wearing a gray shirt plain of course. And he’s pulling for his lifetime Team the Tarheels over his current school.

Announcers??? - take my advice, watch with the sound off - my wife get irritated at me some times but I say there is nothing they are talking about that is going to raise my interest in this game - I do capitulate from time to time ---
Now - I always listen to David Jackson and Chris Fowler and I will turn the sound up to hear what is happening with a replay review of penalty explanation

This why I am trying so hard to temper my expectation. I know a lot of our fans are uber confident and expect us to win. I expect us to win. But there is probably a higher chance that we get blown out vs App blowing out the tarholes. To be frank, we looked bad in 2 of our big games last year. Who knows how the UNC defense will actually look when they do more than vanilla cover 2 or how Maye will perform under pressure. There are a lot of unknowns in the game such as our defense and special teams that we have counted on in years past. I am excited to see our offense operate under Barbay. I think he will get us back to the Drinkwitz style offense where we had the most recent success. We needed more creativity. Fingers crossed we have some new dawgs on defense.

A good article about Mack Brown, the High Country, and App State with a bit of John Settle and Eric Church on the side from the official UNC athletics site.

According to the video I watched earlier Barbay likes to go fast.

I have wondered if we might go fast to start the game, slow down after long defensive bouts and back to tempo after 3 and outs.
I'm tempering my expectations as well but not expecting a blow out on either side. Just hope we don't get banged up to bad for the rest of season.

I just hope we don't overlook them. The NCSU announcement and then that A&M game is going to be huge. Lot of distractions.

I feel close to this. I don't expect to win but feel like we can. There are a lot of unknowns so it is hard to expect anything for sure but we did not look good at times last year so I am hopeful we do much better in this first big test this year.

We are focused. That being said, I have drawn the conclusion that this is a bigger game for them than it is for us. Pressure. Could work in our favor.

If Miami happens again this staff will get lit up. That CAN NOT happen.

I’ve spoken with some UNC fans who don’t expect much out of the Tar Heels.

I have always liked Mack and Sparky. Church makes me want to vomit.

My brother is a UNC grad and fan and thinks we’re going to light them up, but he sometimes does this so he doesn’t get upset when it happens.

This is classic heels, they’ll go back to pretending they are very superior the moment they get the opportunity.

If we win they almost have to schedule another series.
