Regarding the Downs injury, Mack Brown chose to move the FAMU game ahead of ours to week 0 to provide a tune-up. It also gives them a bye week ahead of Notre Dame. So...their choice to play a meaningless game as a tune-up put his players at risk which I'm sure he understood and accepted that risk.
You can't have it both ways, have the tune-up game and not risk injury to your players. I'm indifferent whether he plays or not, dealing with injuries is part of the game and why you have to spend time developing depth. So, I hope the kid recovers from his injury but his not playing will not diminish our victory at all...

If you're offended by the University of non-compliance than I'm not sure you understand the decades of hypocrisy and the depth of the scandal. They need to own that.

Now should he have led with that to an individual volunteering their time for the call, no, I can agree with that specific use.

I'm grateful for Big C (personal friend since 2000) and AJ for the time they put in each week to bring us news and discussion about App. They have great guests and I'd wager it takes 3-4 hours a week to schedule those guests, edit, and produce the pod outside of the couple hours we get to enjoy.

I agree AJ is long-winded with the lead in and questioning at times. I play it on 1.5 speed which helps.

Give me a Mountaineer a break. That is all.

Fair point. Which begs the question, if they had been able to put FAMU away early, is he even on the field at the time he got injured?

Yup, we weren’t the ones that scheduled their week 0 game. And if they’re riddled with talent as they claim, this shouldn’t be an issue for them.

Yup, we weren’t the ones that scheduled their week 0 game. And if they’re riddled with talent as they claim, this shouldn’t be an issue for them.

Though I’d be lying if I said this isn’t a pretty big break for us.

They lose experience but have talent between Andre Greene, Kobe Paysour, Gavin Blackwell, and tight ends John Copenhaver and Kamari Morales.

It is like with us that we lost 4 All-SBC players but we have speed and size coming from Wells, Stroman, Robinson, Horn, Davis, etc.

This does not take away from a potential win one bit. Their 5th best WR is suppose to be better than our top one.

I think we need to get out to a fast start. The stats suggest that App is hard to beat when ahead after the first quarter and UNC is as well. Hopefully Barbay has some stuff up his sleeve to throw surprises at Mack early on and get them on their heels.

I think we all appreciate it! They ask on their board why they are hated by some of our fans but then make comments such as "they have a message board", "their fans are delusional", and take pot shots at our education and talk about how we can only win if we get lucky and they are depleted. They have some nice fans who seem to have a good attitude but for a team with no titles who has under performed the have some arrogant and elitist fans who just have excuses if they lose.

To be fair, the guys from the BGP pod is why people hate us. Those guys are the most pompous and least self aware fans I’ve ever heard.

BigC is the most knowledgeable and down to earth fan in our fan base. I love listening to him talk sports. Would subscribe $100.00 a year to listen to him talk App State sports. Agree with you on the other host. I honestly stopped listening because of him. Just seems childish. The overuse of the University of Non-Compliance "joke" is cringeworthy. I eventually just quit tuning in sometime in 2020.

I will say that the use of the "University of Non-Compliance" at the beginning of the interview with the visiting UNC guest (media guy) this past show was in bad taste. I don't know if he knew the guy or what the situation was, but generally guests are and should be treated better than that. The rest of the interview was much better. I really don't have an issue with AJ and for me, that seemed to be an isolated incident.

lol not shocked by that. I've hard the AJ guy talk about it and he just cites the News and Observer articles that has been debunked 100 times over the last 3-4 years. He's a the worst. It'd be funny to use it occasionally but it's so overused by him.

2022- App State ???
2021 noon games- Duke 38-7 W, Wake Forest 58-55 W, and Wofford 34-14 W
2020 noon games- Syracuse 31-6 W, Virginia Tech 56-45 W, NC State 48-21 W, Duke 56-24 W, Wake Forest 59-53 W, and Western Carolina 49-9 W
2019 noon game- Temple bowl game- 55-13 W

7 of the 10 games were blowout wins. The 8th was 11 points. The only single digit wins were Wake Forest by 3 and 6.

I'm not sure what your issue is with BGP podcast. It's certainly your right to have whatever opinion you have about the podcast or individuals. I personally think they do a great job and I've never felt they do anything to represent our university or our programs negatively. I don't know either of them personally, but I listen to it because they talk about App State and I basically listen to just about anything I find on that topic. Sometimes I agree and sometimes I don't, but I have zero issue either AJ or Big C. Great fans as far as I can tell. Regarding why other programs hate App (to the extent that statement is true...and some opponents do hate us), that feeling precedes the BGP by at least a decade and in many cases multiple decades. It has nothing to do with BGP podcast. It has to do with the fact that other programs hate losing to us and we do have a segment of our fan base that is pretty obnoxious at times. Most winning programs have that problem. There are also some opposing fans who simply don't know how to deal with a passionate fan base. That's life.

I agree on BGP. Love their shows and am glad we have a source of content like theirs to discuss all APP sports. Keep it up AJ and Big C.

When I was a reporter, the hardest thing I had to learn was how to make my questions short and to the point. I cringe when I go back and listen to my older tapes.

Greensboro paper has an article from the Raleigh paper today 2 Sept about the game. It has a nice picture of Coach Moore on the sidelines watching our Mountaineers practice. Great picture. Never hurts to have him on the sideline if only for just the presence.

On the BGP stuff. When I wrote the "roast" blogs, I would get hate from several App fans for "being classless" and "giving the other team bulletin board material" and stuff like that. Alex included. And for everyone one of y'all that decried me, several more loved it.

To y'all that get mad about crap-talkers and stuff like that, get over it. Talk crap before the game in good fun and shake hands afterward. And I'm saying that as someone who does not like Alex at all.
