Troy coach said it was not supposed to be a squib. It was supposed to be a line drive that landed between the blockers and returners. Kicker squibbed it though.

When I heard that I was relieved to see the coach was not crazy. I thought the squib was a really bad idea after giving up a safety. I know that poor kicker has to be beating himself up over this. Probably cost them the game.

Any miracles left on the mountain
Just saying I typed this before last play….how many of us willed the Miracle 2 to happen?
I believed it. I said the same thing to my son and buddy "We won't lose. We can't lose this game. Too important. Miracle on the Mountain part 2"

Luckily, I could have just pulled a politician move and if it didn't happen, they wouldn't have cared- but I CALLED IT!

It was a chance either way to be honest. The coach took the safety thinking they would kick deep and eat up some clock. People overlook the fact he was likely willing to take the safety because he did not think Hughes would hit a long field goal and he had good reason to feel that way. If his punter kicked it right the opinion on the safety likely changes. You have to have good strategy and coaching but also players have to execute. Troy outplayed us but just did not execute in the final minute or so of the game.

Miracle on the Mountain, Part 2 ended in the same location as Miracle on the Mountain, Part 1. (right side of north end zone) Just a little trivia. :)

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Now I can get ready for JMU, which I have been waiting for since 2009. I was there sitting near a very excited JMU sousaphone player that kept yelling that it "was their year."
