Terrible 2nd half. Can’t get conservative. Yes that call on the punt was a terrible call, but that’s not what lost is this game.

This one falls on coaching. We were out coached 2nd half. I understand we want to establish the run, but JMUs defense wasn’t having any of it. Left us in too many long downs and obvious passing situations. It’s like teams never learned from the falcons losing the super bowl while up from the same score we were. Don’t go conservative. Even though this is JMUs first year, they have a wining culture that has been there since our fcs days.

It’s not the end of the world. I hope to see the frustration from this loss taken out on El Cid next week and then we steamroll the rest of the year. We will learn a lot about this staff during these next few games. I still have confidence this will be a hell of a year.

I also love the negative posters that always seem to make an appearance when we lose, but are never around when we win. Go somewhere else. We all wants best for this program and university, but if you only come out when we lose, you aren’t a fan.

Or maybe they just want to hate and when we win lose it delays their negativity until the next time we stumble

I'm with you on the world still chugging along. The defeatism here gets really absurd sometimes, damn.

I'm hoping they realize they can be aggressive with this squad all four quarters. It's been a challenging month, but adversity can build up a young team. How many of the offensive starters are first-timers? Defensive? There's a lot of ball games left and plenty of time to come out on top of the East.

I don’t do this often. But that punt interference cost the game in the end
I was thinking the exact same
One play does not cost you the game. Turnovers, poor coaching, and poor execution cost games.
No probably not but it sure can change the momentum which it did. Horrible call.
I’m going with the crap call on 4th and 2 turnover on downs run up the middle

I thought our defense actually played better today. This is on the offense for not sustaining drives and going full ass predictable. Where was all the motion and creative play calling. Run, run, pass, punt ain't gonna get it.

The defense gave up 29 points in basically 30 minutes

Considering what we lost from last year and the oc we have? 100%. The other teams practice too.

It was a perfect storm this year for our branding and national attention, but as far as football progress on the field, my concerns are only growing.

Let's not get caught up in the hype of our brand and take our eyes off efficiency, consistency, and results

Yes they did. They were also out on the field a lot because we didn’t do anything on offense

We might have just faced the SB title game participants in consecutive weeks, although I haven’t seen much of Marshall or UL…regardless, we are clearly in a very tough league. The target stays on our back. I hope we find more toughness and resolve as the season progresses.

My friend warned me when we hired Clark and he had to remind me about it. He’s an NC State fan so he knows a thing or two about floating into mediocrity.

It sure did. But our offense sure didn't do anything in the second half to give them a break.

This game has me more concerned during any game of the Clark era. What did he say during halftime?

Had we not scored on short fields from the turnovers it wouldn't have been a close game. We truly got our asses handed to us today. Take a look at the stats.
Hope coaches and players take a hard look and dig down deep for the rest of the season or it could get ugly in November. Also lesson #987--Never Ever Take Your Foot Off The Gas With A Comfortable Lead.

1 play from being 1-3, you can't front load your schedule like this --- blame should fall on the Head Master upstairs for playing back to back p5 games to start the season. lucky to be 2-2. Emotionally and physically fatigued.

Seems our players got a pat on the back and then the coaches decided to close the playbook and run inside zone on first and second downs.

We always tend to say that anyone who plays us tight or beats us is a great team and conference title contender. Maybe they are, but perhaps we just played poorly and lost a game we should have won. 3 emotional weeks in a row tends to take a toll on teams.
