Seen a few people say "fire Dale Jones". Those who want Dale Jones to be held accountable at DC don't realize that he is married to Tommy Sofield's daughter. He is also close friends with Shawn. I don't see Dale going anywhere.
Clark needs to take himself seriously and not hire “friends”. Put up or shut up at this point. I’m 100% for some for sale signs in yards at this point. He hasn’t produced. A&M was the offense not the defense. He’s had UNC hang 50+, been saved by at Hail Mary and lost a 3 point lead to JMU. Why is he still employed?
I don't think Shawn needs to be fired right now but I do think he needs to make some changes in the off-season if we don't see effective adjustments the rest of the year. I expected 8-4 because I was not sure what Barbay would do and I figured we were young in key places that would cost us games. I am not okay with being a 7-8 win program and I'm pretty sure none of our major boosters and diehard fans are either.

Let’s go back 5 games

1) this mess
2) Hail Mary to beat a middle of the pack sun belt team
3) a&m
4) 60 burgered by UNC
5) WKU meltdown

And some of you think this is okay

The overreaction express is in midseason form, I see. Did you guys not see this as a possibility? This JMU team is good and we’ve been inconsistent. We were a miracle away from this a week ago. It sucks, but take a breath. Nothing in football is ever as good as it seems or as bad as it seems.

I don’t want Dale Jones fired, I just want him to do better. Coach up the corners and let’s get some pressure.

Did I see us blowing a 28-3 lead, only crossing midfield once in the second half, and calling the same bullshit plays even though they weren't working a possibility? Nope. Not the App State football I know. Can talk about 5 star tradition and culture all they want, but blowing that type of lead at home is crap.

Yeah, we're not firing anybody. And that's fine by me, but I'd like to see more urgency and.. I don't know.. grit.. toughness?

JMU was going for it on 4th at the end without a care in the world. If they would have converted you think Cig takes a knee? Hell no, they're punching it in for a score.

That's the kind of thing I want to see. Not the easing off the throttle with a lead when there's half a game left. That's why they play 60 minutes. JMU brought the killer instinct and this team rolled over. 🤷

My gf was talking to me when when App was up big in the second and asked me why I wasn’t excited. I told her that we had stolen 2 TDs with nothing to show on either side of the ball that it would continue. App Stole 14 points and still lost.

Another mediocre Dale Jones defense and another out-coached and out-played offense caused this.

Many of you are “happy to be here” fans, and that’s respectable. You’ve seen App rise from being a plucky FCS program playing in Conrad Stadium to what we are today. I get it. You went to App State when it was 7k students and unknown East of I77.

That isn’t the ceiling today

This was the first time they had been in the drivers seat for a New Years 6 and straight up lost it.

Cool! they beat UNC in a down year and then beat a non bowl eligible Gamecock team in 2019. Woo! But it at least broke the streak. This program has lived on its potential with nothing to show for it for a decade. That’s why gameday showed up. Shoulda-coulda-woulda at this point.

Moral of the story, do you want to support “the almost Apps” or support “we have more wins against south Alabama’s and Texas state” Apps?

You decide.
I want to give you 100 likes for this.

I feel like we are back on the old debates form the "coaching hires thread" with Drink and then Clark.

App has to make the next step. We are in this purgatory of "in between" good story and great team. I was hoping we could figure this mess out with the 3 chances we got this year but last week had me real worried. I was out at Quail Hollow today sporting my shirt and a lot of people engaged in talking about App, but I made it clear today's game had me really worried. We came out of the gate like we knew the need to make a statement with JMU and then it fell apart.

We’ve been outplayed in 5 of our last 6 games. We’ve only played 5 or 6 quarters of good football this year. Shawn shouldn’t be fired. But dale jones better be on the damn hot seat. This offensive staff better look in the mirror instead of patting themselves on the back.

It seems like we cannot put a complete game together. I don’t know if it’s coaching, recruiting or what. Our talent this year is not the same.

I can take getting my backside kicked by a team that is all around better than me. However, I can't stand getting outcoached. Today, we got outcoached. There is no excuse that with the weapons we have, we should put up AT LEAST 35 points per game and over 500 total yards of offense. JMU out-executed us 100 to 1. This game is clearly on our coaching staff with the decisions made and the lack of preparation.

This is not looking like a bad post. A and M looks awful .. middle Tennessee whipped Miami and we are lucky not to be 0-4 . That 4th and two from our 20 yard line …run up the middle for a turnover on downs was just absolute garbage.

You expect preparation and consistency. If not, then it is obvious you haven't been a fan long.

He got hurt last week and tried to go, clearly he was too dinged up to finish. Nate missed last week and also had very limited carries and plays today. Chop also had limited plays. In the second half we essentially were running our 4th and 5th string backs. Problem is we continued to call plays as if Cam was still in the game. We didn't adjust to the fact that our horses were on the sideline. That is on our Oc and HC and I would like to know why they played it that way.
