And for fans that do not believe that coaches should be terminated, we are not true fans do not have appropriate expectations and basically could care less if we win or lose. What gets me is the same people who say, "We need better competition!" are the same ones who say, "The sky is falling!" when we lose.
We have something really special here at Appalachian, because of the special people that get here and stay here.

I feel like this is the same sentiment as the folks who always say "don't look ahead to the next opponent! We have to focus on being 1-0 THIS week! #BeatETSU"Seattleapp wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 10:58 pmWhat’s wrong with you? Don’t you know you can never ever move on from a loss….ever. How else will people know you are a real fan if you aren’t endlessly bemoaning the team?
Bro. I don't play on the team. I literally just watch on tv.

Re: Slop on the rock
SSS- small sample size. Looking at the most recent 6 games MIGHT hint at a trend, but compared to the overall body of work, doesn't really show us anything. If the season continues in this negative fashion THEN it's time to start re-evaluating certain players and coaching staff. However, using your own point, 2 of the 6 games your pointing to as evidence also happened last season with a different cast (different OC; lots of different key players).App91 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 3:09 pmHard to say that the most recent observations and outcomes are cherry picking. They are quite literally the most recent examples. I understand your thought but 2020 is ancient history and a completely different castMrCraig wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 12:25 pmSure. My point is, you are handpicking a small sample size. If you look back to 2020 as well, App beat exactly half of their opponents by 3 or more touchdowns as well. So, over his career as head coach, Clark has applied rear to fine grit 50% of the time.App91 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 10:44 amYou did notice that the statement was qualified to the last 6-7 games, correct?MrCraig wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 7:19 amApp State beat the opponent by 3 touchdowns or more in literally half of their games last year.PhillyApp1 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 2:01 am
Omg
I forgot about "sandpaper their ass"
Because...... in the last 6-7 games( jmu, Troy, unc, wku, uL) I saw it once in Texas
If I did this right (and please check my math, it's not my strong suit), Clark has a 21-9 record. 15 of those 21 wins have been by 3 touchdowns or more. So, only 6 games were won in a non-blowout fashion.
I think this supports my point that play calling doesn't really get "conservative." The opposing defense adjusts. Sometimes App adjusts back, and sometimes they don't.

Haha call it whatever you want. Some of my clothes are black and yellow and have big A's on them. When I can I watch the sports team that represents the university from which I received my bachelor's degree. Occasionally, I argue about their sports teams on the internet. So whatever that makes me, that's what I am.Seattleapp wrote: ↑Fri Sep 30, 2022 10:47 amYou call that being a fan?MrCraig wrote: ↑Fri Sep 30, 2022 7:29 amI feel like this is the same sentiment as the folks who always say "don't look ahead to the next opponent! All I’ve seen is a rivals forum but didn’t notice anything new about the current football season.

Re: Slop on the rock
Tons of respect for you as an App fan, 89 but last week wasn't even close to being the worst loss. It was bad...no doubt about that. No way we should have lost, but the loss to Liberty was much worse. The loss to a terrible VMI by a previously undefeated App team at home was much worse...losing us the home field for the playoffs. In my opinion (and these are more arguable), the collapse against Villanova in the playoffs was worse...and the loss to Illinois State to end our FCS playoff days in 2012 was incredibly painful.appst89 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 12:18 pmWorst home loss in my 37 years of following App State football.AppOrange wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 11:54 amYou don't blow a 25 point lead at home without everyone contributing. Offense, Defense, ST, coaching . . . pepper in some awful calls by the refs, and their you have it. No singular entity is to blame for the total meltdown, but everyone contributed. O keeps scoring, we win, D stops them more, we win, coaches stop the bleeding and adjust better, we win, hell, if that punt call is correct, we probably still win. This was a top 5 upset at home for me in 25 years of APP football and I am ashamed to say I am still not over it. This collapse was a truly a team effort.
Last week hurt because we hate JMU and we know we shouldn't have lost, but if we get back on track, we can still pin the conference. The impact isn't all that great in the grand scheme. People saying we will never be able to forget this are just wrong. The loss to South Alabama was lost once we went down there and whipped them the next year. This one will only last if it keeps happening.
Time to put that one behind us. Go APPS!!!

It’s just my opinion. There are a lot of reasons I think this one is the worst, but there’s no point in beating this horse. Just have to try to bounce back and see what we are made of.Yosef84 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 10:06 amTons of respect for you as an App fan, 89 but last week wasn't even close to being the worst loss.
