Re: Vent Here
Our program is in trouble. Loss for words otherwise. Beat soundly by 3 conference opponents. We're just lucky to win one of them. I'll be totally shocked if we do better than 4-8. Getting these guys gametime prepared consistently is a major issue and that does fall on the coaches.

Re: Vent Here
We settled with Clark. It’s lead us to mediocrity. Those of you who have continuously stuck your head in the sand and stuck by his “our goals are still ahead of us,” fell for it.
And I don’t wanna hear, “oh why are you even watching if you clearly hate App.” I care enough to give a shit about our program racing to the bottom. We’ve had every advantage our last two coaches had roster wise, and the eyes of the college football world on us, and we’ve fallen flat for 3 years.
-No SBC championships
-Never ranked
-only a bow win against a 4 win North Texas

Re: Vent Here
There shouldn't be any defense for anyone for why we lost tonight. No pun intended. Another totally embarrassing loss for our "culture". How the hell do we go from could have beaten UNC, beat Texas A&M, to getting pushed around in our conference. If we are good as we think, this shouldn't be happening in the Sun Belt. Self-inflicted breakdown losses. Looks like we are at the point of not winning games we think we are expected to win according to the streak we are on. If SC doesn't hit the portal hard for our needs, that is his own fault. If I were an opposing O coordinator, I'd throw the ball every down on our defense. I guess we can scratch Clark off leaving our program after the season. lmao.

Re: Vent Here
I’ve been vocally supportive of Clark in this board, but this is an inexcusable loss. I’m against mid-season firings, but if this season continues in this manner, it’s time to seriously reevaluate the coaching staff. This is how you become lost in the wilderness like Georgia Southern.

Re: Vent Here
But we had nice "outfits". You can put some of this on coaching but the biggest part of this loss was execution. Both lines were pitiful and we have no secondary. You will see better tackling in middle school games.

PREACH, if bosses on the top don’t start making real adjustments we will go under like GaSo and reminisce about being a conference power house.

Re: Vent Here
This team lacks grit, attitude and discipline. We can all have opinions about who/what causes that but it’s the bottom line. Our defense misses the first and second tackle on almost every play, they have zero eye discipline and play on their heels every down.
Offensively, we are egregiously inconsistent and those “BULLS” up front look an awful lot like calves.

Re: Vent Here
Defense isn't up to standard but that expected based on what we lost. No excuse for our offense not being able to out score everyone, as we are loaded there.

Re: Vent Here
We all know that we are built on the run, but it appears to me that opposing defenses have picked up on or we are tipping them off where we are headed with our run and have begun to stack that side to shut us down somewhat successfully, just like every team is being successful passing on us and both issues date back to last year, most notably better teams ULL, WKU. Now they are on that game plan. I thought Barbee has called some good games in spots keeping the opposing Ds guessing and disappearing at times. Maybe he stayed in Boone with Cam?

Re: Vent Her
What I see…
Only have one edge rusher - Hampton.
Out of fit Linebackers = arm tacklers.
Need a bigger hitting Safety.
One corner has trouble with man coverage.
Can’t get the other team off the field, defense has few 3 and outs.
Earle and S Jones are studs.
Must find a #1 back. Rotating backs 3-4 backs means they are all fresh, but no one gets in a rhythm.
OL is manhandled at guard and center positions. No inside zone gaps to run.
Stroman and Castle should be given more opportunities.
Pearson is a stud.
On field Intensity and discipline has slipped a little each year since 2018-2019. Transfer portal means most teams today are pretty equal athletically. Being physical and disciplined is critical to winning. We did neither tonight.

Re: Vent Here
Clark was supposed to elevate above satterfield (and maybe drink). It’s been 3+ years and I don’t see it. Don’t like Offensive lineman as head coaches. Might be too early to move on, but we’re going in the wrong direction. 3-5 our last 8 games…woof, and the schedule is about to get tough.
Is it too early to look to the future? Brice gone, no chance Cam comes back, Noel? Defense is looking small and slow.

Re: Vent Here
Head coach is responsible. It is his job to fix the obvious and not so obvious issues. The lack of discipline is ridiculous.

Re: Vent Here
Cam and Noel always being injured is hurting us. Chop, Marshal and Castle are great 4th quarter backs. Put #14 out there and ride Tecmo Bowl. Take the redshirts off all of the Defensive lineman and just let the best players play. Our LB’s and DB’s are fine, but our line SUCKS!

I tend to agree with you. Whatever we are doing isn't working, let's see if the young guys have something we need, especially Roberts. Hell, they all have 4 games to show what they got in game time atmosphere (not practice) so I say we use those 4 games to see what they have. Worst case senario it gives our young guys experience for the future.

Re: Vent Here
Honestly, we shouldn’t be redshirting anyone if they are ready to play now. With the free portal, none of these kids are promised to be here next year. Use them while they are on campus….ESPECIALLY ROBERTS.t4pizza wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 10:20 pm'NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 10:16 pmCam and Noel always being injured is hurting us. Re: Vent Here
Our margin for error is gone.A three conference loss team isn't going to win the East unless things get really weird , weirder. If we start playing for the future then Brice needs to sit , but we know that won't happen.
