Clearly the answer is that Shawn should be ambiguous in press conferences and then just post weekly in Yosef's Cabin the actual health of the players so only we know. Problem solved.

Re: Vent Here
I'm not one to defend him at all costs but I would not put that stuff out either to be honest. Why give the opponents that info to know who to expect? I would be very vague and never confirm an injury so everyone would find out on game day. What I am tired of is how injury prone our backs are. Either these talented backs are really soft and have a track mentality or something is going wrong to get them injured constantly.
I really believe Clark won't last until December of 2023 and if he loses 3 more this year, which we could, he won't make it to December of 2022. This is the type of loss that either causes this team to regroup and we have a strong November or they fall apart and we win 5-6 games and gets Clark fired. We will see what happens. I hope we turn it around because I love Shawn personally and don't want him gone but I love the program more and winning the right way is what matters most.

I just want him to stop saying Noel has been "fine" every week and then be a game time decision for four straight games.

I don't get it either but that is how it is. I do love Shawn personally but he has to win. Folks on here would be surprised how many big donors and folks who have been giving for 30+ years who won't just sit by while we lose. They expect to win and they should.yosef69 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 12:15 amWhen it became a hot take to love the team more than the coach is one of the biggest mysteries I’ve ever seen from this fan baseAppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 12:13 amI'm not one to defend him at all costs but I would not put that stuff out either to be honest. Re: Vent Here
That is what I have been wondering with our backs. Do we have players who perhaps pull themselves trying to make a statement? If the doctors clear the player then a coach who has control over his team can basically tell a kid that he plays or is off the team. That is hard to do though. I would say when it is a chronic problem something needs to be done. I actually believe Shawn that Noel is fine and Noel is the one backing out.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 12:21 amHe can only go by what doctors and players say. Re: Vent Here
I remember when in 2019, the defense gave up 41 points to UNCC and it was a calamity. I myself said Roof should be fired ASAP. The players even said Roof was trying to do some new defensive things that didn't work.
The next day, Drinkwitz moved Roof to the booth, made sure some defensive gameplan changes were made and refused to let the defensive coaches speak to the media that week (which I disagreed with). The App defense has had two games worse than that UNCC game in the last seven played and a general issue with any team that has a QB who can throw the ball decently. Not to mention a putrid third down defense.
I think there needs to be serious changes with the defensive staff ASAP.

No, you said Cam and Noel should be benched for the rest of the seasonn without knowing their injuries. I don't know either. I'm playing devil's advocate. If the coach is told the player is good to go, that's all he knows. He doesn't know what he doesn't know.yosef69 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 12:26 amI literally just said this and now you admit the players are healthy scratches on their own accord.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 12:21 amHe can only go by what doctors and players say. Also, Cam's situation is one that goes beyond football. So, put the drink down.

Re: Vent Here
Again, I'll never judge a player with how they feel about an injury. Every player is different. Some nag longer than others. Maybe some flare up with full pads on. Maybe they tweak something in warm ups. Maybe the sitting still on a flight aggravated something. There are countless reasons why a player may not be comfortable going.yosef69 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 12:33 amFine. I’ll trust you and cam. But Noel? Sorry. Does not mean the coach should be lambasted for reporting on the data they've received and seen.

Re: Vent Here
A few thoughts:
-We came out flat and unmotivated from the very first snap. We had the same defensive problems we had at JMU (and prior), as if changes had not been made. Except for that early pick, we made their QB look elite (he has not been).
-TXST gameplan was to come out and play fiery aggressive football, maybe even play dirty and try to get us riled up. It worked, we responded with an inexcusable penalty run through the 1st Q, and constantly took the bait and fought back after the whistle. Have to respond with passionate play not retaliation Post whistle.
-understand Cam was out. If no one else wanted to actually try and run the ball, we should’ve put the Freshman out there, dude would have given his all. For all the talent in the RB room, the starters have not shown up since A&M, which continues to be puzzling.
-QB was good except for the pick 6 and the overthrows. We lost this one by our defense, running game (<50 yds), and a lack of discipline in all phases. We should’ve been motivated to come out and throw 100 on them, but we came out lethargic - motivational issue there.

Re: Vent Here
I don't give a rats rip if we know who is injured. Not my business as a fan to know who plays and who doesn't. All that info gives the other team a chance prepare. What I do want is a team prepared to play with the players it does have. It's football....people get hurt. Next man up , even if he isn't as good as the one before. You try to accommodate for that as best you can. We just look so confused as to who is doing what on defense. If we are that weak on depth then someone should look as to why we are not recruiting like we should. It seems to me we have a good product that players and such like. I just don't know anymore. It's all smoke and mirrors but eventually someone has to say....ok, what we are doing isn't working. Do we sent seem like we are doing that. We just keep hoping we can run up the middle or run a jet sweep.... If the defense isn't good enough, and we need the offense to win the game, then by golly make a change to win the game or at least be competitive. We were not competitive against JMU and now TXST.

As has been mentioned on here before that is very difficult to do since he is dating the daughter of a booster that is so important that he stands on the sideline at every single game, both on the road and home. I literally saw her father standing on the sideline at least a dozen times on TV in this loss. Of course he has enough money if he really loves App he would pay him 150k to sit home and not be our DC but you know that won't happen. lolyosef69 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 12:28 amThis lukewarm take is being vilkified on here and by the old heads on twitter.T-Dog wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 12:27 amI remember when in 2019, the defense gave up 41 points to UNCC and it was a calamity. Re: Vent Here
According to an insider, not Moose or AppStateNews, the reason we are thin at certain spots is that we have lost some coaches and it is almost impossible to get good players consistently when that happens. We have been beating up a bad league and now the league has gotten good so we have to raise our bar or we won't be a contender anymore.ASUTodd wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 1:03 amI don't give a rats rip if we know who is injured. One issue we do have is that we are beat up on the OL but it is not being reported. I won't go into which player it is but I know for a fact that we have a very good OL who is playing with an injury that he simply should not be playing with. He should have sat out this entire month but he is fighting the pain and may end up playing hurt all year long. Our coaches or trainers should bench him for his own good but they aren't doing it.

With all due respect Clark is not getting fired if we finish 6-6. Some of these takes are absurd and what does winning the right way even mean? By 40 points every game so we as fans don’t have to feel bad?AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 12:13 amI'm not one to defend him at all costs but I would not put that stuff out either to be honest. You are throwing around a lot of speculations I’ll give you that. I don’t know if you are drunk or just stirring the pot but your endless innuendoes and conjecture of being “in the know” with a bunch of anonymous, endless sources is growing tiresome.
