I don't gamble but if I did I would have taken the points. I did not think we would cover. I believe he picked us to win by 10 and I thought that was fair. If the bookies are smart they won't make us double digit favorites in anymore games and likely have us the underdog in at least 3 of the remaining games.Appmountaineers19 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 5:49 pmWell on the the bright side 2 of us didn't lose. AppSt94 and I took the money line last night and WON. Even took the points and cashed in.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 12:37 pmI would suspect Gillin will let the season play out here so let's see what happens. If we fix the issues this month and have a good November then people will let this all go. If not and we go 6-6 or worse, then we could be looking at major changes. I know some say Shawn won't go no matter what after this year but I don't see how Shawn could keep his job if we don't make a bowl game. If we just lose one more then you can't be too mad because that is what some expected but 6-6 or worse is not something anyone thought could happen. This staff and locker room has a chance to turn things around and still win the conference. I just hope they don't blow this and lose out on a bowl game all together.Howard Street Hooligan wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 12:25 pmDoes this booster want more L’s because it’s clearly coming. We look awful defensively, can’t stop a nose bleed. Keep him around but he doesn’t need to lead the defense.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 1:29 amWhat is the speculation? It is a fact that Dale Jones is in a relationship with Tommy Sofield's daughter. Tommy is a big money booster who is on our sideline every single game, has direct access to Clark, Gillin, and anyone else he wants in our program. For those who want Dale Jones gone this is not as simple as just getting rid of Dale without expecting major blow back.Seattleapp wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 1:25 am
You are throwing around a lot of speculations I’ll give you that

We've went from the penthouse to the outhouse. We're one Hail Mary away from being 2-6 in our last 8 games.AppWyo wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 3:53 pmRemember the glory days when we beat Texas A&M? that was almost a month ago.asu1988 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 3:40 pmThis game and the JMU game are now in the top two worst moments during my time of watching this team. No pressure on the QB. Vanilla playcalling. Stupid and undisciplined penalties. I'm sick of coach speak. A lot of "Why's" need to be answered. I'm not entirely sold on Clark as a head coach. We are the Alabama of the G5. We expect to win and to win consistently. There should be no excuse for a rebuilding year, considering the seniority we have on the team. I remember a day we used to dominate people. Teams did not want to play us. How the mighty have fallen.

If we keep playing like last night, Coastal will throttle us. Obviously, something isn't working.Seattleapp wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 5:36 pmSounds like someone needs to buy a coastal shirtasu1988 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 3:40 pmThis game and the JMU game are now in the top two worst moments during my time of watching this team. Yet ironically I’ve somehow managed to parley my degree from App into being pretty successful in life. But you are partly right. I’m not very good at showing my testosterone levels on a message board. So you got me there. Also, we aren’t 0-12 so it’s not something I spend a lot of time worrying about.

So this is how you choose to compensate? Ok. Most guys go with big shiny cars, you choose to be a keyboard warrior. Cool.

Good times breed weak men. We are in jeopardy of thinking we're better than we are versus SBC teams.
These tough times will either breed strong men or we'll see some of them quit. Those are the options in front of this team and staff, the choice is yours.

Re: Vent Here
The guys at Texas State made a point of taunting our guys. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was part of an overall strategy on the part of their coaching staff. I think they told their guys, they think their better than you, they view you as a easy win. And I think we did go down there with that mentality. It’s great to say we’re App State if you still think you need to prove it. I don’t think we feel like we have to prove it anymore. Texas State took our lunch money and laughed at us. Sorry if it hurts but that’s the truth. Like the last post said, now what are you going to do? And before anybody starts on me for being a bad fan, I’m 17 years into my Yosef Club membership, I haven’t missed a home game in 15 years and I spent some time on that field. I’ll be there on 10/19 to see who steps up, coaches and players.

Re: Vent Here
As strange as this is to say, I actually think we will handle Coastal and Marshall and Southern because those are teams that our players have respect for and knows are quality and can win. We clearly played up for A&M because we respected them and wanted to show what we had. Then we rest on our laurels against what are perceived as sub peer conference foes. We escape Troy with a win and get a big lead on JMU and then we coast and lose. We go to Texas State, a team we have never lost to, and get lambasted. As much as I know that our defense has less talent than other years, this type of play is coaching. Getting kids to play up every game is very very hard to do. It is why Saban is so good, because he manages to get his team to play up even when it is against nobodies. Any coach can get a team motivated to play Bama, but it takes a great coach to motivate a team to play against teams that are perceived as lesser than programs. I am sure Clark will figure this out at some point, we have to remember he is still learning on the job. And for everyone calling for coaches to be fired, just remember that the next guy would likely also be learning on the job as we usually don't get experienced head coaches to fill our vacancies. This year has been rough and it may get rougher, but hopefully lessons are learned and improvements are made. It just feels like 2004 all over again to me, hopefully the next 3 years will be as great as 05-07 were.

Re: Vent Here
I will say the second half was competitive and for not the interception for TD.... we probably would have won.
The Sunbelt conference has exposed our weaknesses so that even a mediocre team can gameplan us..... the question is whether we can make enough adjustments to win any of our next games.... I am praying for everyone from coaches to players.

WELL STATED.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 10:09 pmWhat I see…
Only have one edge rusher - Hampton.
Out of fit Linebackers = arm tacklers.
Need a bigger hitting Safety.
One corner has trouble with man coverage.
Can’t get the other team off the field, defense has few 3 and outs.
Earle and S Jones are studs.
Must find a #1 back. Rotating backs 3-4 backs means they are all fresh, but no one gets in a rhythm.
OL is manhandled at guard and center positions. No inside zone gaps to run.
Stroman and Castle should be given more opportunities.
Pearson is a stud.
On field Intensity and discipline has slipped a little each year since 2018-2019. Transfer portal means most teams today are pretty equal athletically. Being physical and disciplined is critical to winning. We did neither tonight.
ALSO THE PENALTIES AND DISCIPLINE.
In the past it seemed like our two and three deep players were eager to rise to the occasion on Defense.....I'm not seeing that at all now. Other than QB position and one WR and one back up RB the TP hasn't benefited us much. Looking ahead to next year our talent and ability drops off the cliff. Outside of Jones the secondary is abysmal. Ross plays well at times but the rest look like high school players. Outside of Hampton the LBs are lost arm tacklers. Losing Harrington bites but hey it's football. To be fair I see why Coach Jones goes with so much zone coverage....he ain't got the talent to man up. And I don't know what has happened to the OL?????

Re: Vent Here
Seattleapp has given it to me for almost three years because I asked questions about the Clark hire. I feel like he is a legitimate fan and respect his opinion. But, I'll admit I'm enjoying this a touch.
