I’m gonna hop in the shower after silently pulling for Southern. Ending the year with a win @ Paulson to claim the East would be spectacular

By this definition, doesn’t everyone in the east other than GSU control their own destinies too?

Re: In control of our fate
The good thing is, though they will be tough, none of remaining opponents have impressed me. The bad thing is I’ve been less than impressed with us at times. I’m praying the App State team we all know and love shows up each and every week.

Us, Marshall, and ODU all control their own destiny in the East.

Re: In control of our fate
GaSo is nothing to sneeze at this year. They've finally learned how to throw a ball and their QB is pretty good. You really have to plan for the run and pass with them now. K Vantrese has 2,512 passing yards this year and running back J White has 540 yrds on the year. The back up RB has 313 yrds on the year. I think they will be the biggest test the remainder of the year. Yes. I know we play Coastal as well but they don't bother me like GaSo does.

Now this is an intelligent comment.ASUTodd wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 6:59 pmGaSo is nothing to sneeze at this year. They've finally learned how to throw a ball and their QB is pretty good. There isn’t a conference game left that we want need our A game to win. Going to be tuff but it could be a lot of fun.

They can really only get better. They are like 125th in the country at 485 YPG allowed. That's horrible.

Re: In control of our fate
This and you can throw the stats out of the window when App and Georgia Southern play. I'd say the gap between App and GSU was much wider in 2019 than it is this year, and they had no problem coming into Boone and beating App on Halloween.

Re: In control of our fate
It's looking like Troy could easily go 4-0 to end the year (maybe lose to Army) and have only 1 conference loss. If we do win out would they host the CCG?

If we both win out, then they would host the game. If we win out and they drop 1 of those 4 (but not ULL) then we'd have the tie breaker over them thanks to Mary...we'd host in that scenario.

Re: In control of our fate
I know a boatload needs to happen for us to host and it appears more likely that the stronger East could have a 2 loss winner while the west has a one loss champ. Why not ULL? Would they hold a tie breaker at 2 losses? If that's the case we would need them to beat Troy and gulp, lose to Stink- if I read it correctly. Imagine actually rooting for them to win like 3 different games in one year.

Re: In control of our fate
If ULL wins out (which means beating Troy) then they would hold the tie breaker over Troy, so Troy wouldn't win the West. haven't done the math on what happens if ULL were to win the West with 2 losses (or anybody else we haven't played) and we win the East with 2 losses, but there's a waterfall of things for deciding who hosts the CCG in that situation.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 9:19 amI know a boatload needs to happen for us to host and it appears more likely that the stronger East could have a 2 loss winner while the west has a one loss champ.
