This thread is cracking me up. I'm not trying to be snarky, but how do you not know who Drake is? My DAD knows who Drake is. He's on TV all the time. He's courtside at every Toronto Raptors game. His music is everywhere. He's been one of the most famous pop stars of the last 10 years. I'm not a huge Drake fan but, like, where y'all been??

Didn’t know Drake. I’m in the world of bluegrass music and rap is the exact opposite. Do not watch any TV except sports and westerns. And he is a Canadian, you say, so he hasn’t crossed my path.

Both tell a story. Both use vocals and the beats per second can be high. I am not sure bluegrass is the exact opposite.

That was kind of my point. I don't expect everyone to care about and like Drake. I'm just surprised there are people who don't even know of his existence because he's so famous.

I prefer the old school Beastie Boys picture with one wearing an App State basketball t shirt. Admittedly, they never achieved Drake status even if I know their songs but couldn't name one of his (I am sure I have heard one I just don't know it is his song).

Neither. Drake and many musicians wear sports paraphernalia with zero regard for the team. It’s a fun thing that he wore it but I’m wildly confident he nor anyone in his camp has any idea who we are. It’s just a retro logo to him, that’s it.

The boomer energy here is strong . 40 million Twitter followers, 170 million records sold, hundreds of millions of video streams on YouTube…top 50 selling artist of all time. More than RHCP, Van Halen, the Police, Nirvana. I’m not a fan, it’s not my type of music but damn. A lot of the same people who say “my generation’s music is the greatest ever made, respect it” are the same being awfully disrespectful to a massively popular artist.

Hey now, Nelly is having a LOT of success with his hip hop/country music cross over stuff. He's done releases with Florida Georgia Line, Darius Rucker, Kane Brown, and is about to release a single with Chris Lane (who's from Kernersville, NC). He's also working on a second crossover album with some ladies of country music. He's bringing urban and country together.
