Watching So Carolina take down Tennessee. Beamer not taking his foot off the fuel no matter the score. Need more fuel at App. No friends on the field.

Yep how many App games have we seen over the years where we are up 4 scores either at the half or early second half and we go completely vanilla and the entire game changes? Bleh

So if they are aware of it and do it anyway, that makes it better or OK? We started the day with 4 viable options at running back. We have talked about 3 of the 4 possible being hurt during the game. That still leaves one healthy back. At best it looks like a really questionable call to burn the shirt for 2 plays in a game that was over.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 6:04 pmI agree, it's odd. Couldn’t make the game yesterday, how was the environment? From what I could see on TV it looked like a pretty good crowd and it looked like the students came out.

He's still only played in 3 games.. he can play in one more and still keep his redshirt. I'd understand the reactions of he played 2 plays in a 5th game. But, he didn't.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 3:55 pmSo if they are aware of it and do it anyway, that makes it better or OK? We started the day with 4 viable options at running back. I think it was questioned because we could need him in 2 games, and if we do, Saturday sure looks like a wasted game. Just doesn’t look smart.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 4:08 pmHe's still only played in 3 games.. he can play in one more and still keep his redshirt. Or perhaps the coaches that are with the players every day know a little more about the health situation than fans on a message board. Maybe the game plan was to have Kanye play but the situations only allowed for two plays.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 4:12 pmI think it was questioned because we could need him in 2 games, and if we do, Saturday sure looks like a wasted game. You can try to spin this anyway you like. It’s not the end of App football but it’s also not a smart move by our coaching staff. And our staff has earned some level of scrutiny.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 4:14 pmOr perhaps the coaches that are with the players every day know a little more about the health situation than fans on a message board. You're right. You know more than the coaches. You know the health of every player. Can you please submit your resume next time we have an opening?Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 4:18 pmYou can try to spin this anyway you like. Your answer is always the same, you don’t know what’s going on. I don’t have to know anymore than I do, to know playing that kid for 2 plays in that game was a very questionable move. It’s not that complicated.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 4:22 pmYou're right. You know more than the coaches. You know the health of every player. Or perhaps I do know what's going on. And the plan was always to get Kanye in specific packages. To run those packages, we needed ODU to give us a specific look.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 4:41 pmYour answer is always the same, you don’t know what’s going on. Also, Kanye told coaches he doesn't care about playing in the bowl game. He wants to help these seniors get to a bowl game.

I’m wasn’t saying you don’t know what’s going on, maybe you do, maybe you don’t. I was saying your argument is always none of the rest of us know what’s going on. Just an FYI, we didn’t need him to help win Saturday’s game. We could have saved him for a possible bowl game. One more time, you can spin it anyway you want, it wasn’t smart. Some of us want to see this coaching staff start to do the little things that win championships.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 6:04 pmOr perhaps I do know what's going on. So it wasn't smart to promise a kid playing time and then not give it to him? Okay, if the look was to be down 27 points late. I just hope he doesn’t have to come on at Georgia Southern and if we make a bowl game. But I’m sure you’ll argue that was the plan all along.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 6:04 pmOr perhaps I do know what's going on. And the plan was always to get Kanye in specific packages. The look we needed ODU to run was based on personnel. They had two guys we knew couldn't guard him in the pass game. They played for the two plays but played half the game the previous 3 games.
One play was a designed pass to Kanye, but ODU switched from a man to zone scheme pre snap so it wasn't open. At that point, they brought Kanye back out and put Chop in to go against that specific personnel.
And yes, my argument is often you don't know what's going on on the sidelines. Every single decision has multiple variables tied in to it. As fans, we don't know what those are. I didn't know any of this until I spoke with people after the game.
