I would say QB’s will be wild. 2nd string guys at the top P5 level are going to be looking for a place to be a starter. Coaches better start looking for solid kids at QB who will be ok being a back up or when the starter goes down the team will too. Going to be hard to hold on to 2 top notch QB’s.

Maybe I just didn't keep up with it as much last year. But the portal seems to be insane this year.

Chase is a quality kid. I had never spoken with him prior to last week but I’ve talked with his Dad. Good people.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 2:01 pmThis is awesome. I like this guy even more now...yes, it is a one-sided bro-mance

Think if he could go back in time he would have played at App for 4 years? Seems to really love the place. Can't blame him!

I think that, now that it's been around for a little bit, the players better understand how to use it. It also seems like a lot of higher profile guys are transferring than in the last couple years. I'm sure the extra Covid years and all that had some sort of effect on this as well.

My brothers were both in basketball camp there, then.appst89 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 12:17 pmI saw Thurl Bailey's 240Z in the summer of '83 when we went to State for basketball camp.Stonewall wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 11:23 amIn 1983 they were driving red 240Zs. The truth is all the crazy NIL deals right now are just formerly belowground money being done aboveboard now. The same guys paying X player $1MM/year were buying that same player new cars and giving them duffel bags and what not a few years ago.
I've personally seen a very high profile NC State basketball player who was well known to be from an extremely impoverished background pull up to a college party in a brand new Escalade while visiting some friends. This was circa 2006 or so.

Re: Possible transfer situations
Given all the other G5 options, why would a solid portal kid come to App at this point? It's a serious question.

Re: Possible transfer situations
I mean why wouldn't they? Yes APP was 6-6 ( one "bad" year ) but they garnished ALOT of national attention despite the record. GD was here/most players would love to play in that atmosphere - If you are a defensive player following just a little bit this year of the struggles on defense you are salivating for a chance to prove yourself IMO. Obviously the notion that the locker room was "lost" was WAY overblown (just look at our TP). The mountain is still a top 7 G5 place to play.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 4:52 pmGiven all the other G5 options, why would a solid portal kid come to App at this point? Re: Possible transfer situations
Hmmm, are desperate enough to pick up a transfer from Furman?...one of App St team members liked a tweet of a Furman lineman announcement to portal....we need to educate the young players that we have standards and lines that cannot ever be crossed

He most definitely is but some of our more outspoken student fans certainly don't like him very much. I'm glad to see he didn't let an outspoken few change his love for this place.

student “fans”. fans don’t bash players constantly and do what those few did. Brice is one of the best around as a person and player.
