Players Transferring AWAY

Today marks the official opening of the transfer portal. Some are predicting it to be the biggest portal yet. Figured I would start this to lay out the players who have officially announced they are transferring AWAY from App. I would expect a complete overhaul of the DB group next season. I wouldn't be shocked to see 1 or 2 more "bigger" names announce.

How many kids do we lose to eligibility/graduation? Are we about to lose 30+ kids total?

Once again, not all are leaving because they decided to do so. Some as with any program were toxic to the culture or just were told hey, scholarship not being renewed because not producing what is needed. Others in fact leave on their own OR realize they aren't going to crack the rotation to play much initially.

Others in fact leave on their own OR realize they aren't going to crack the rotation to play much initially.

No doubt. Players leave/get pushed out every season for that reason. I think this somewhat lackluster list proves that the locker room is "not lost" as many claim on here and social media.

Yeah, 28 seniors per the athletics website. Number will be close to 40 of people leaving. That is why development is being preached so much right now.

So +-40 out and currently 14 commits (if they sign). Whew, going to be a whole new team next year. Currently a net -26 players.... Pound the phones!

How many of these kids going OUT have significant playing time? I know some may be missed, others may never see playing field and just want to finish with somebody on the field and it won't likely happen at APP. Just trying to gauge relative impact to our team.

Jordan Mitchell - LB - I believe this is Jordan Helig, dont think we have a mitchell. Mostly was special teams whole career, some depth PT on defense.

Jonathan Streeter - DB - never played
Isaac Johnson - DB- never played
Jamar Rucks - DL- role guy, saw minimal PT.

Losing some at every level. Not our best players but definitely lose some starters and depth.

Yea KeSean, Wells, Smith and Helig contributed over the years for sure. I still haven't seen Helig post or anyone say he's in portal but 247 portal page has him in it.

When someone enters the portal, they are off the team immediately, and cannot come back unless asked. Correct?

It probably varies by school/coach or player. Say Drake maye entered portal to see if UGA or Bama bit. I'd have a hard time believing UNC wouldn't let him back in if he changed his mind. However, I feel that Clark might just cut ties if you enter the portal at APP. If you don't want to be here, there's the door type of situation and you can't come back.

There should be a hard and fast rule that says if anyone enters his name in the portal he's gone. This isn't like basketball where stud players can "test the waters " of the NBA and return. Heard some guy's talking about it on the radio. Let's say a Maye puts his name out there to see how much NIL he could get from a bigger program but doesn't get what he thinks he deserves then says "I'll just stay here". Programs can't be held hostage by players. It's really getting jacked up
