It’s where he, and his father wanted to be from the get go. It was initially down to us and Tech and apparently, Fuentes made the decision easy for Troy. Now that they have a new coach, it seems like a great fit from the outside, we shall see how Daddy handles his boy riding the pine at Tech.

Losing Troy hurts for depth but let’s be honest here - he was demoted for a reason. He is a solid player but was bailed out by others around him multiple times. He had some good blocks as well, not discrediting that but inconsistent to say the least.

We were already targeting IOL players in the portal for a reason. Troy will just be a career rotational player. Ole Daddy will figure that out eventually.

This is a kid that could play/start at multiple positions. For a team that is already thin there this is a hit. There's certainly no guarantee that we find starters in the portal. How many first time OL recruits will start for us next season? Our season doesn't sink or swim on Troy's absence but its more than an "oh well" event.

Tech’s OL was bad last year and they project two red shirt freshmen to start this season and haven’t settled on the fifth starter. Their center is one of two returning starters.

Happens all the time now. Illegal but that’s where NCAA is right now. Next man up!

With the current plans in place, the staff isn't too worried about losing Powers or Everett. Obviously, everything is fluid and can (and likely will) change.

We have some prospects in line waiting to accept an offer.
